Wilbur Lloyd Headden
MCKENZIE: Services for Wilbur Lloyd Headden, 78, will
be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, at First
Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Larry Dailey
and Bob Hull officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery.
Mr. Headden, a retired electronic technician with South
Central Bell, died Saturday, October 20 at Jackson-Madison
County General Hospital.
He was born November 11, 1919 on Veterans Day in Atwood to
the late Camilla Cummings Headden and Kelly Headden. He
was a member of First Cumblerland Presbyterian Church. He
was a former commander of McKenzie VFW Post #4939 and
chaired the local district Voice of Democracy contests at
various times. Mr. Headden also participated in the annual
Veteran's Day program at McKenzie High School.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Faye Smith Headden; two
daughters, Cheryl Baker of Doylestown, Pennsylvania and
Ann H. Borrell of Portsmouth, Virginia; a sister, Annell
Jones of Nashville; a brother, Dr. Norvel J. Headden of
McKenzie and four grandchildren.
A brother, Broeck Headden also preceded him in death.

Bruce Daniel "Danny" Carter
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Bruce Daniel "Danny" Carter, 54, died
Monday, October 22 at his home. Funeral services will be
conducted on Friday, October 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the
Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Rufus Chandler
officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memorial
Gardens.
Mr. Carter was born October 25, 1946 in Carroll County. He
was a member of New Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church.
He was co-owner of Dilday Funeral Home, Northwest
Tennessee Crematory and Carroll Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Smothers Carter; his
parents, Elder Clarence F. and Alene Carter of Huntingdon;
four sons, Steve Carter, Stanley Carter, Scott Carter and
Shawn Carter, all of Huntingdon; one brother, Dr. Lee
Carter of Huntingdon; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Danny Carter Memorial Relay
for Life at Carroll Bank and Trust.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday after 3:00
p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home West Visitation Room.
Wallace A. D. Jordan
HUNTINGDON: Services for Wallace A. D. Jordan were
Friday, October 19 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church
with the Rev. Charles Coplin officiating with burial in
Little Grove Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Mr. Jordan died
Monday, October 15, at Jackson-Madison County General
Hospital.
Mr. Jordan was born October 12, 1930 to Mac and Wallace
Jordan. He was an employee of Beare Cold Storage Co. for
29 years and retired in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Jordan; one
stepdaughter, Margaret Dove of Huntingdon; one
step-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Bobbie Jean Gilbert
MCKENZIE: Funeral services for Bobbie Gilbert, 58,
were Sunday, October 21 at Olivet Baptist Church in
McKenzie with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Ms. Gilbert died Wednesday, October 17 at Methodist
Healthcare in McKenzie of heart failure.
She was born November 15, 1942 in McKenzie to the late Tim
Ottbridge and Laura Mae Gilbert. She was a member of
Olivet Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Edward Gilbert, Sr. of McKenzie;
two brothers, Tim Ottbridge and Maurice Ottbridge, both of
South Bend, Indiana; eight sisters, Belinda Watts, Viola
Comer, Vanessa Ottbridge, Robin Ottbridge, Cheryle Godwin,
all of South Bend, Indiana; Cookie Jefferson of Wisconsin,
Jean King of Chicago, Illinois and Frances Jones of
Seattle, Washington; a stepmother Christine Ottbridge and
one grandchild.
Rawls Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
James Earl Knott
BRUCETON: Services for James Earl Knott, 82, were
Saturday, October 20 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. James S. Daniel officiating. Mr. Knott died October
10 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Burial was
in Hebron Cemetery near Bruceton.
He was born June 11, 1919 in Weakley County to the late
Fonzie and Willie Dale Fuzzell Knott. He was a member of
Prospect Baptist Church in Hollow Rock. He was also
preceded in death by a brother, Hollis H. Knott.
Surviving are his wife, Maggie Knott, several nieces and
nephews.
Charles Wayne Beckman
BRUCETON: Funeral services for Mr. Charles Wayne
Beckman, 60, were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 19
at Stockdale-Malin Chapel with Bro. Eulas Greer
officiating. Burial was in Eastview Cemetery in Camden.
Mr. Beckman died Monday, October 15 at Camden General
Hospital at Camden General Hospital.
He was born August 13, 1941 in Blytheville, Arkansas to
the late Charles T. Beckman and Lucille Watkins Beckman.
Survivors include two sisters, Judy Pinson of Camden and
Berry O'Hare of Chicago, Illinois; four brothers, George
Beckman of Fulton, California, Jesse Beckman, Walter
Beckman and Billy Beckman, all of Chicago, Illinois.
Billy Jim Roark
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Billy Jim Roark, 69, died Tuesday,
October 16 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services
were conducted on Thursday, October 18 in the Dilday
Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ernest Ray Pounds and
Brother Tim Lunn officiating. Interment followed at Obion
Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Roark was born January 10, 1932 to the late Gurther
and Virgie Pendergrass Roark in Clarksburg. He was a
retired employee of the Fisher Building Company and a
member of the Obion Chapel Church of Christ. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Delma Hardeman Roark, who
died in 1985.
He is survived by one sister, Bennie Alford of Huntingdon
and four nieces.
Walter Wesley Lewis, Jr.
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Walter Wesley Lewis, Jr., 58, died
Tuesday, October 16 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral
services were conducted on Thursday, October 18 in the
Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Jones
officiating. Interment followed at West Union Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis was born May 30, 1943 to the late Walter Wesley
and Anna Eugenie Sulcer Lewis, Sr. in Memphis. He was a
retired employee of the HOPE Center.
Linda Carol Lomax
BRUCETON: Mrs. Linda Carol Lomax, 48, died Friday,
October 19 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on
Sunday, October 21 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with
Reverend Bobby French officiating. Interment followed in
Prospect Cemetery
Mrs. Lomax was born April 30, 1953 to the late Felix
Graden and Lexie D. Whittaker Cary in Carroll County.
She is survived by her husband, Dexter Lomax of Bruceton;
two stepsons, Brad Lomax of Huntingdon and Thad Lomax of
Parsons; three brothers, Larry Whittaker of Bartlett,
Bennie and Grady Cary, both of Yuma and one
step-granddaughter.
