Bethel Offers Three Early Registration Days for New Students

Moving on from high school to college can be a difficult transition. Bethel College offers a program that helps incoming students and their families make that transition less daunting, Early Registration Days. The first will be on Saturday, June 16, followed by others on Saturday, July 14 and Friday, August 10. Early registration allows new students the opportunity to insure their place at Bethel this fall and enroll in the courses they want. Attending Early Registration Day will also allow the incoming student and his or her family the opportunity to experience all that Bethel has to offer. Finally, it allows the student and family members the chance to finalize placement, scheduling, housing and financial aid and all the procedures that are involved in registering for college.
Bethel College is the first ThinkPad College in Tennessee. This program, a joint venture with IBM, provides the entire faculty and student body with IBM ThinkPads. Bethel, as the first ThinkPad College in the state of Tennessee, is part of an elite group of colleges and universities that participate in the IBM program. In addition to receiving notebook computers, Bethel students will have access to Internet ports throughout the campus, including all academic buildings and even their dorm rooms. Every dorm room at Bethel has an Internet port for student use.

If you are planning to attend Bethel this fall, the June 16 Early Registration Day is your best chance to get the classes you need at the time you want them. For more information, contact the Bethel College Admissions Office at 901-352-4030. Don't wait until the last minute, call today!

Area Field Commanders Chosen

With the conclusion of the 2000-2001 school year, all four Carroll County bands lost long time field commanders to graduation. Three of these schools, McKenzie, Huntingdon and West Carroll have chosen new field commanders to lead their respective bands for the 2001-2002 school term.
McKenzie's choice was Amanda Mansfield, daughter of Darlene Mansfield and Ricky Mansfield. She will be a senior at MHS this fall as she leads the McKenzie Marching Rebels.
Huntingdon's new field leader will be Chelsea Autry, daughter of Barry Autry and Deidre Autry, a sophomore at HHS. She will lead the Marching Mustangs.
Lorien Pirtle, daughter of Jim and Karen Pirtle of Trezevant, will represent West Carroll High School and she will be a junior at WCHS. She will be leading the Marching War Eagles.
