Mary B. McBride
1919-2002
MCKENZIE: Services for Mary B. McBride, 83, were at
11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10 at Brummitt Funeral Home
with Bro. Vance Rushing officiating. Burial was in Mt.
Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. McBride, retired employee of Gaines Manufacturing
Company, died on Sunday, August 4 at Oak Manor Health
Care Center in McKenzie.
She was born January 18, 1919 in Henry to the late Mary
Lawrence Miller and Albert B. Miller. She was a member
of Cold Water Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Adams of Honolulu,
Hawaii; a brother, W.C. Miller of McKenzie and one
grandchild.
Her husband, Carl McBride, preceded her in death.
Pauline Darby Julian
1925-2002
GLEASON: Services for Pauline Darby Julian, 77, were
held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8 at McKenzie Church
of Christ with Bro. Jim Roberts officiating. Burial was
in the New Valley Cemetery.
Mrs. Julian, a homemaker, died Monday, August 5 at NHC
Healthcare in Franklin.
She was born January 24, 1925 in Cedar Grove to the late
Robert L. and Ora Mae Pitts Darby. She was a member of
the McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Julian; a son, Eddie
Julian of Nicholasville, Kentucky; a brother, Edward
Darby of Camden; a sister, Jessie Hamilton of Gleason;
three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ray Willard Phelps, Sr.
1916-2002
HUNTINGDON: Services for Ray Willard Phelps, Sr.,
86, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10 at Hopewell
Baptist Church in Yuma with burial following in the
church cemetery.
Mr. Phelps died Tuesday, August 6 at Huntingdon
Rehabilitation Nursing Home.
Survivors include his wife, Leodia Pearson Phelps; six
daughters, Elsie Seward, Virgie Phelps, Rebecca Phelps,
Christella Hillsman, Eula Johnson and Kay Raspberry;
three sons, Ardrain Phelps, Walden Phelps and Arthur
Wayne Phelps; three sisters, Lillie Mae Trice, Dimple
Foulks, and Augustine Wright and three brothers, Winford
Phelps, Matthew Phelps and Billy Phelps.
Mercer Brothers Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of
the arrangements.
Mildred K. Forrest
1929-2002
HOLLOW ROCK: Mrs. Mildred K. Forrest, 73, died on
Sunday, August 11 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in
Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday,
August 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel
with Bro. Jimmy Allison and Bro. Bob White officiating.
Interment followed in Hebron Cemetery.
Mrs. Forrest was born March 10, 1929 in Carroll County
to the late Arvin and Lura B. Presson Baker. She was a
retired sewing machine operator for Henry I. Siegel
Company and a member of the Hebron Methodist Church. A
son, Dennis Harold Forrest Sr., also preceded her in
death.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, John Austin
Forrest; one daughter, Mary K. Sills of Huntingdon; one
son, James Roy Forrest of Bruceton; one sister, Sue
Bryant of Huntingdon; two brothers, Albert D. Baker of
Hollow Rock and Howard Baker of Hendersonville; six
grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
Orville Earl Cauley
1931-2002
CLARKSBURG: Mr. Orville Earl Cauley, 70, died
Thursday, August 8 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in
Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Monday,
August 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home
Pioneer Chapel in Bronte, Texas. Interment followed in
the Grape Creek Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas.
Mr. Cauley was born December 23, 1931 in Eola, Texas to
the late Orvin Estell and Stella Rawls Cauley. He was a
self-employed well driller and a member of the Baptist
Temple Church in San Angelo, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Kemp Cauley; three
daughters, Cheryl Bush of Wildersville, Patricia
Ricketts of Cedar Grove, and Cassandra Cauley-Ricco of
Lexington; two sons, Robert Cauley of Katy, Texas and
Michael Cauley of Sealy, Texas; three sisters, Sue Ford,
Patsy Warren and Sandra Bruton, all of San Angelo,
Texas; two brothers, Leo Cauley and Lehmann Cauley, both
of San Angelo, Texas; six grandchildren and one
great-grandson.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the local
arrangements.
Peggy Joyce Erler
1931-2002
MCKENZIE: Services for Peggy Joyce Erler, 70, were
at 2;00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13 at Brummitt Funeral
Home with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial was in
Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Erler, a homemaker, died on Sunday, August 11 at
West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center in Jackson.
She was born December 6, 1931 in McKenzie to the late
Georgia Aylor Pentecost and Lester A. Bingaman. She was
a member of the First Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Erler and a son,
Lester E. Erler of McKenzie.
A son, James R. Erler and a brother, Lester A Bingaman
preceded her in death.
Martha Goodrum
1913-2002
HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Martha Goodrum, 89, died Monday,
August 12 at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral
arrangements were incomplete at press time. Dilday

Willard Barksdale
1925-2002
MCKENZIE: Willard Barksdale, 77, died Monday
morning, August 12 at McKenzie Health Care Center in
McKenzie.
He was born July 6, 1925.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Barksdale; two sons, Billy
Barksdale and Mark Barksdale and two daughters, Penny
Knott and Jennifer Waldrup, all of McKenzie.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time.
Brummitt Funeral Home of McKenzie is in charge of the
arrangements.
