Willard Hampton
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Willard Hampton, 47, died Saturday,
February 2 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, February 5 at
the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Carvene
Jamison officiating. Interment followed in the Humbles
Cemetery.
Mr. Hampton was born November 30, 1954 in Carroll County.
He was an employee of the Leroy Somer Company in Lexington
and a member of the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church. A
daughter, Nicole Hampton, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Dudley Hampton; one son,
Caleb Alan Hampton; his father and mother, Arthur Wayne
and Ruby Adams Hampton; one sister, Stella Williams and
three brothers, Kemp Hampton, Billy Hampton and David
Willis, all of Huntingdon.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
O'June Crossno
MEMPHIS: Mr. O'June Crossno, 75, formerly of Carroll
County, died Tuesday, January 29 at the St. Francis
Hospital in Memphis. Graveside services were conducted on
Saturday, February 2 at Christian Chapel Cemetery with
Brother Richard Crossno officiating.
Mr. Crossno was born March 23, 1926 to the late Virgil and
Hester Greer Crossno. He was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Huntingdon
and Opetha Hester of McKenzie and several grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Milburn Moore
BRUCETON: Services for Mr. Milburn Moore, 86, will be
at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6 at Bruceton Funeral
Home Chapel. Mr. Moore, the retired owner/manager of
Ernie's Steakhouse, died Sunday, February 3 at Life Care
Center in Bruceton.
He was a member of Central Point Baptist Church and served
as a former Bruceton Chief of Police.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Goodman Moore; a
daughter, Sherry Padilla of Concord, Georgia; a son,
Ernest Lee Moore of Eagle Creek; a sister, Norma Fowler of
Camden; a brother, John Leslie Moore of Waverly and three
grandchildren. Wilburn Taylor
MCKENZIE: Services for Wilburn Taylor, 74, were at
2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3 at Wingo Baptist Church in
Trezevant with Rev. Morton officiating. Burial was in the
church cemetery.
Mr. Taylor, a retired construction worker, died Thursday,
January 31 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
He was born May 12, 1927 in Trezevant to the late
Cornelius Taylor and Adean Taylor. He was a member of
Wingo Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Taylor of McKenzie and
Larry Taylor of Atwood; four daughters, Adean Newbill and
Mary Taylor, both of McKenzie and Ann McClerkin and
Sabrina Taylor, both of Atwood; a sister, Madilene Glass
of Trezevant; two brothers, Curtis Taylor of Trezevant and
Eugene Taylor of Cleveland, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren
and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Paul Edwin Pace
MCKENZIE: Services for Paul Edwin Pace, 56, were at
1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 30 at Brummitt Funeral Home
with Bro. Michael Walker officiating. Burial was in
Seminary Cemetery in Pillowville.
Mr. Pace, retired employee of Tennessee Metal, died
Sunday, January 27 at his residence.
He was born May 8, 1945 in Benham, Kentucky to the late
Relli Jane White Pace and Elkanor Pace. He was a member of
the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Gleason.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia C. Pace; two daughters,
Johanna Christina Pace Cannon of McKenzie and Cynthia Kay
Michael of Springville; a son, Paul E. Pace of Gleason;
two sisters, Dolly Coleman of Detroit Michigan and Fay
Bowden of Annville, Kentucky; a brother, Terry Pace of
Dover and five grandchildren, Maxwell Pace and Jess Pace,
both of Gleason and Megan Michael, Blake Michael and Drake
Michael, all of Springville. Devin
Edwards
PARIS: Graveside services for Devin Wilson Edwards,
infant son of Kevin and Anna Dean Edwards were at 2:00
p.m., Thursday, January 31 at Carroll Memorial Gardens
near McKenzie with Randy Moore officiating.
Devin was stillborn Sunday night, January 27 at Henry
County Medical Center.
In addition to his parents, he leaves a brother, Michael
Glen Edwards of Paris, his paternal grandmother, Sudie M.
Edwards of Paris; maternal grandparents, Robert F. Dean
and Peggy A. Dean, both of Paris; and maternal
great-grandparents, Esther and Charles Combee of Paris.
His paternal grandfather, Glen Edwards preceded him in
death.
Brummitt Funeral Home of McKenzie was in charge of the
arrangements. Robert J. Clement
RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA: Mr. Robert J. Clement, formerly
of Gleason, passed away at his home on January 22. He was
the son of the late Albert and Kathryn Clement. He was a
native Tennessean, taking all of his education in the
school
system of his home state. He graduated from the University
of Tennessee Medical Units College of Dentistry at Memphis
in 1956. The year before his completion of dental school,
on December 20, 1953, he married an attractive nurse, Mary
Lou Nelson of Milan, who was the love of his life.
Bob's career is defined by his thirty-year service in the
air force and his teaching and administration in the
dental school at Loma Linda University in California. His
military service took him literally all over the world
with assignments in several stations in the United States,
Japan and Crete. He retired from the U. S. Air Force with
the rank of colonel. While in the military service he was
awarded numerous honors including the Legion of Merit,
Meritorious Service Medal (Second Oak Leaf Cluster) and
Outstanding Unit Citation. In 1988, Bob was appointed
assistant professor of Oral Diagnosis, Radiology and
Pathology in the School of Dentistry at Loma Linda
University.
In 1999, he was asked to serve as Director of Clinical
Services. His service to the school was marked by a love
for the students and faculty and a serious commitment to
excellence in-patient care. His unflagging support of Loma
Linda is well known. He was a member of LLUSD Century Club
and the Dean's Circle. In 1990, he was Teacher of the Year
for the School of Dentistry. His presence and person will
be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Melba Gallimore of
Gleason, preceded him in death. He will be missed by
family, his wife, Mary Lou; a son, Dr. Robert J. Clement,
Jr. and his wife, Linda and two grandchildren, Jason and
Christina of Winter Springs, Florida; a son Douglas S.
Clement and his wife Susan and two grandchildren, Deanna
and Melanie of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Barbara Ann
White of Memphis and a brother, Jerry Lee Clement, also of

HUNTINGDON: Memorial services will be held for Robert
Edward Clement Saturday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Dilday
Funeral Home. Mr. Clement died Sunday, January 27 at
Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Clement and a daughter,
Donna Eubank, both of McKenzie. |
