Mattie Sue Roe
CEDAR GROVE: Mrs. Mattie Sue Roe, 76, died Saturday,
March 16 at the Huntingdon Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, March 18 at
11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.
Robert Barger officiating. Interment followed in the Leach
Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery.
Mrs. Roe was born June 9, 1925 in Cedar Grove to the late
William Gus and Audra McKinnley (Fry) Duncan. She was a
homemaker and was also preceded in death by her husband,
Thomas Edward Roe, who died in 1987, three brothers, Harry
Duncan, Delbert Duncan and Clinton Duncan and one sister,
Uldean Fry.
Survivors include two sisters, Maxine Hammett of Cedar
Grove, Jennie Lee Keel of Collegedale; two brothers, John
Frank Duncan of Cedar Grove and Billie Warren Duncan of
Huntingdon and several nieces and nephews.Sheila Sue

CEDAR GROVE: Ms. Sheila Sue Hart, 32, died Friday,
March 15 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital of injuries she
received as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral
services were conducted on Sunday, March 17 in the Dilday
Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Orvind Dangeau
officiating. Interment followed in the Sellers Hill
Cemetery.
Ms. Hart was born August 28, 1969 in Huntingdon. She was
an employee of Southern Source in Milan and a member of
the Baptist Church. Her father, Jerry Wayne Singleton and
her grandparents, Wayne and Sarah Singleton and Robert
Cary preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Jenette Singleton; two sons,
Daniel Lynn Hart and Dustin Lynn Hart and her companion,
Ricky Taylor, all of Cedar Grove and her maternal
grandmother, Lucille Smith of Bruceton.
Opal Crum
CEDAR GROVE: Ms. Opal Crum, 90, died Wednesday, March
13 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services
were conducted on Friday, March 15 in the Dilday Funeral
Home Chapel with Brother Billy Ringold officiating.
Interment followed at Sellers Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Crum was born November 4, 1911 to the late James Henry
and Josie A. Tosh James in Carroll County. She was a
member of the Hickory Plains Church of Christ and a
homemaker. Her husband, B. Crum, who died November 22,
1962, a brother, Homer James and a sister, Mable Huey
White, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene Crum of Cedar Grove and
James Crum of Huntingdon; two daughters, Robbie Darnall
and Patsy Smith, both of Huntingdon; seven grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren and two great-grand children.
Charles H. "Shorty" Azbill
GARY, INDIANA: Mr. Charles H. "Shorty" Azbill, 71,
died Wednesday, March 13 at his home. Funeral services
were conducted on Tuesday, March 19 at the Dilday Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Elmer Thomas and Rev. Bob White
officiating.
Mr. Azbill was born February 27, 1931 in Lexington to the
late William and Ruby Rummage Azbill. He was retired from
American Brick Company in Muster, Indiana and was preceded
in death by a grandson, Shawn Azbill.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Irene Azbill; two
sons, Jeffery Azbill of Gary, Indiana and Roger Azbill of
Lake Village, Indiana; two brothers, Bobby Azbill of Cedar
Grove and Edward Azbill of Nashville; two sisters, Madge
Thomas of Huntingdon and Margaret Noe of Cedar Grove; and
four grandchildren.
Richard Fredrick Mast
MCKENZIE: Services for Richard Fredrick Mast, 68, were
Thursday, March 14 at 1:30 p.m. at First Assembly of God
in McKenzie with Bro. Darren Larkin officiating. Burial
was in Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
Mr. Mast, custodian at McKenzie Elementary School and a
retired area wide manager of McDonald's in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, died Tuesday morning, March 12 at Methodist
Hospital in McKenzie.
He was born December 8, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He
was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in
McKenzie.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Rankin Mast; three
sons, Donald Mast, Robert Mast and James Mast, all of
McKenzie; six stepsons, Derick Garriott of McKenzie,
Steven Garriott of Smyrna, James Garriott of DeKalb,
Illinois, Brian Garriott of Sycamore, Illinois, and John
Garriott and Kevin Garriott, both of Murfreesboro; two
stepdaughters, Patsy Moore and Penny Garriott, both of
McKenzie; a brother, Charles Mast of McKenzie; a sister,
Shirley Scott of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two grandchildren;
17 step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Sheila Nolen King
MCKENZIE: Sheila Nannette Nolen King, 37, died of
respiratory complications on Friday, March 8 at
Jackson-Madison County General hospital. Her funeral was
held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at Greater Enon
Baptist Church in McKenzie, where she was a member, with
the Rev. James H. Stewart officiating. Burial was in Mount
Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
Born January 30, 1965 in McKenzie, she was the daughter of
Erma Lee Allen Nolen of McKenzie and the late Archie
Nolen. She was a factory worker.
Survivors also include two brothers, John Archie Nolen and
George H. Nolen, Sr. of McKenzie; five sisters, Velma
Caster and Linda B. Nolen, both of McKenzie, Mary Ann
Dalton and Linda C. Clinton, both of Gary, Indiana and
Tammie R. House of St. Louis and several nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Reva Elwanda Garrett
GLEASON: Services for Reva Elwanda Garrett, 80, were
Thursday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home
with Rev. Dwayne Thomas officiating. Burial was at New
Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Garrett, widow of James Wilbert Garrett, died
Wednesday, March 13 at her home.
She was born January 7, 1922 in Sidenia to the late Elmer
and Estelle Lee Morgan. She was a member of Tumbling Creek
Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Brawner Turner and
Suzanne Lampkins, both of Gleason; a sister, Tina Sue
Wiley of Sharon; three grandchildren and one
step-great-grandchild.
David Louis Grace
BRUCETON: Services for David Louis Grace, 52, were
Friday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home
with Bro. Robert Jackson officiating. Burial was in New
Prospect Cemetery.
Mr. Grace died Tuesday, March 12 at his home.
He was born February 7, 1950 in Flint, Michigan to the
late Walter Emerson Grace and Lucy Pita Cavieto Grace. He
was a veteran and a member of Professional Bowlers
Association.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria McAllister Grace;
three sons, Michael Lee Grace, Sr. of Bruceton, Patrick
Shawn Grace of League City, Texas and Christopher Troy
Grace of Paris, Texas; two brothers, Walter Grace of
Houston, Texas and Edward Grace of Midwest, Texas and
eight grandchildren.
Charles Larry Fuzzell
MCKENZIE: Services for Charles Larry Fuzzell, 66, were
at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19 at Brummitt Funeral Home
with Bro. Jeff Bryant officiating. Burial was in Caledonia
Cemetery.
Mr. Fuzzell, retired from Goodyear, died Saturday, March
16 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
He was born January 14, 1936 in McKenzie to the late
Rachel Reese Fuzzell and Homer Fuzzell.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jean Fuzzell; two
daughters, Rhonda Jean Houston and Gina Kaye Harper, both
of McKenzie; two sisters, Joann Rainey of McKenzie and
Charlene Wade of Charleston, South Carolina and four
grandchildren.
Robert Donald McClure
SARASOTA, FLORIDA: Robert Donald McClure, 64, died
March 15 after a short illness.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn McClure and two
daughters, Carrie Sylvester of Pasadena, Maryland and
Connie Mielke of Evansville, Indiana; one grandson and two
granddaughters.
Donald was the son of the late Bob McClure and Pearl Denen
McClure and grew up in McKenzie. He was a graduate of
McKenzie High School and the University of Tennessee at
Knoxville.
After a tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force, he spent his
working years with Hewlett-Packard and recently retired to
make his home in Sarasota.
He is the cousin of Frances Featherstone.
Joe Eb King
NASHVILLE: Mr. Joe Eb King, 45, died Tuesday, March 12
at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Friday,
March 15 at Brummitt Funeral Home. Interment followed at
Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. King was born June 28, 1956 to Jerry King, Sr. and the
late Darrell Powell King of McKenzie. Joe had worked as a
wildlife officer with the TWRA.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelsey King of Columbia; a
sister, Jan King of Camden and two brothers, Jerry King,
Jr. and Jimmy King, both of McKenzie.
Williard Rumley VanCleave
HILLIARD, OHIO: Willard Rumley VanCleave, 83, passed
away peacefully on March 3 at Mill Run Gardens and Care
Center. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 9 at
Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home. Interment was in St.
Joseph's Cemetery.
She was born February 11, 1919 in Huntingdon, the daughter
of Ernest Rumley and Fannie Allen, both deceased. Her
husband of 55 years, Walter VanCleave, Sr., brothers
Barney and Clyde Rumley and sisters Gladys Pickett and
Kathleen Peach also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Walter VanCleave and Robert
VanCleave; one daughter, Diane Whicker; and three sisters,
Dorothy White, Earlene Foust and Lucille Brannen and seven
grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the Arthritis
Foundation or the American Heart Association.
Jimmy D. Youngblood
MCKENZIE: Services for Jimmy Dale Youngblood, 42, were
at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19 at Ridgeway Funeral Home
with Barry Hart officiating. Burial was in Memorial
Cemetery.
Youngblood was dead on arrival Saturday, March 16 at Henry
County Medical Center from injuries received in an
automobile accident.
Born June 1, 1959 in Paris, he was the son of Jean E. Wade
Youngblood of Paris and the late Jack N. Youngblood.
He was married December 23, 1995 to the former Teresa
Harvey, who survives. He was a member of the National
Guard for six years and worked in maintenance for Ryder
Truck Rental.
Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Jesse James
Youngblood of Paris; a stepson, Jeremy Stone of Nashville;
five brothers, Jackie, Mike and Clayton Youngblood, all of
Paris, Butch Youngblood of Dundee, Ohio and David
Youngblood of Muskegon, Michigan; and three sisters,
Shelia Flood, Sherry Dean and Pam Steele, all of Paris.
A son, John Steven Youngblood, who died at age five on
December 11, 1988, and a sister, Tracy Lynn Youngblood,
preceded him in death. |
