James Hugh Waldrup
1928-2002
MCKENZIE:
Graveside services for James Hugh Waldrup, 74, were on at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, at Shiloh Cemetery in McKenzie with Bro. Vance Rushing officiating.
Mr. Waldrup, retired from the McKenzie Sanitation Department, died on Monday, September 23 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born on June 16, 1928 in Paducah to the late Elsie Lee Strout and Bernice Waldrup.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Moore of Bruceton and Judy Earls and Martha Myers, both of McKenzie; a son, Eddie Waldrup of Mayfield, Kentucky; two sisters, Margie Hime and Iva Mae Fuzzell, both of McKenzie, a brother, B.D. Waldrup of McKenzie; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Edward E. "Buddy" Pace
1926-2002
HUNTINGDON:
Mr. Edward E. "Buddy" Pace, 76, died Monday, September 23, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, with Brother David Clubb officiating. Interment followed at Clark Cemetery.
Mr. Pace was born June 24, 1926 in Waverly to the late Edward Everett and Saba Hunter Pace. He was a retired employee of the Tennessee Gas Propane and a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served briefly in France in 1944. A sister, Martha Harmon, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Pace; three daughters, Laura Smith of Maryville, Teresa Roy of LaFollette and Carol Arnold of Maryville; one son, Scott Pace of Augusta, Georgia; two sisters, Evelyn Marsh of Nashville and Ruth Krebill of Keokik, Iowa and 10 grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Frank J. Swift
1916-2002
HOLLOW ROCK:
Frank J. Swift, 85, retired building engineer for U.S. Postal Service died on Saturday, September 14 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5 at 12:00 noon at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Huntingdon. The body will be cremated.
Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock, following mass.
Mr. Swift was born December 17, 1916 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Stanley and Antoinette Rafaez Szaflairski. He was a member of the Catholic Church, a World War II army veteran and a member of the Hollow Rock VFW Post $4349.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Ann Swift; two stepsons, Victor Stephens Hemphill, Jr. of Concord, California and John Howard Hemphill of Goldsboro, North Carolina and a sister, Helen Palke of Hollow Rock.

Willie E. Norden
1918-2002
HUNTINGDON:
Mr. Willie E. Norden, 84, died on Saturday, September 28 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George W. Hill officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
Mr. Norden, the son of the late Ed and Luradean Noles Norden, was born February 4, 1918 in Benton County. He was a farmer and a member of the Huntingdon First Baptist Church. His wife, Moggie Norden, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two stepsons, David Smith of Union City and Michael Smith of Hollow Rock; six nieces and four nephews.

Willard Hall Caraway
1932-2002
HERNANDO, MISSISSIPPI:
William Hall Caraway, 70, formerly of Trezevant, died on September 6 in the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He was buried in Hernando Memorial Park.
He was an army veteran, a Baptist and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Rose "Cissy" Caraway; three children, Ronald Caraway of Marion, Arkansas, Alan Caraway of Southhaven, Mississippi and Tammy Wolverton of Memphis; two sisters, Bonnie Arnold of Longview, Texas and Charlene Carrington of Newark, Delaware; a brother, Lesley Caraway of Brentwood; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Joan, preceded him in death.

Red Powell
1939-2002
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN:
William George "Red" Powell, 63, passed away on Friday, September 20 in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain where he operated Red's Garage and was a member of the Fire and Faith Praise and Worship Center.
His parents, Duke and Ruby Powell and a sister, Elaine Powell, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Powell; two daughters, Laurie Wynne, of Flintstone, Georgia and Delilah Pace of Lookout Mountain; four sisters, Betty Brewer and Janie Mae Felts, both of McKenzie; Shelby Massey of LaFayette, Georgia and Louise Hannah of Lookout Mountain; four brothers, Morrell Powell, William Tex Powell and Larry Powell, all of Lookout Mountain, and Rocky Powell of Trenton; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, in the Trenton Chapel with Reverends J.L. Black and Terrell Stephens officiating. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Lookout Mountain.
Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, Georgia made arrangements.

James H. Barham
1940-2002
MCKENZIE:
Services for James Hailey Barham, 61, were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 29 at the Johnson Temple CME Church with the Rev. Henry L. Cunningham officiating. Burial was in Cayton Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Barham, a former employee of Doane Pet Care died on Thursday, September 26 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
He was born December 8, 1940 in Paris to the late Lewis Barham and Doshia Barham. He was a member of the Johnson Temple Church where he served on several boards and sang in the choir.
Survivors include two daughters, Meta and Laqueca Barham, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina, three sons, James Sylvester Barham of Atlanta, Georgia, Darrell Andre Barham of Indianapolis, Indiana and Stephen Barnhill of Huntingdon; two sister, Paula Jean Clark of Huntingdon and Mamie Ruth Strickland of McKenzie, a special friend, Lina B. Nolen and six grandchildren.

Tammy Lee Kirk Spivey
1965-2002
CAMDEN:
Mrs. Tammy Lee Kirk Spivey, 37, died Tuesday, September 24 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, September 26 at 3:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Greg Stanford and Brother Jim Spivey, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Spivey was born April 4, 1965 in Henderson County. She was an employee of J.T. Oil Co. and a member of the McLemoresville Baptist Church. Her father, Jessie Kirk preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Chris Spivey; her mother Ann Kirk of Huntingdon; one daughter, Ashley Rimmer; two sons, Blake Rimmer and Nathaniel Spivey, all of Camden; two sisters, Kim Hill of Huntingdon and Lorrie Spivey of Cedar Grove and a special friend, LeAnn Bell of Camden.

Billy Eugene King
1928-2002
HOLLOW ROCK:
Mr. Billy Eugene King, 74, died on Tuesday, September 24, at the West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Facility. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Marlboro Baptist Church with Brother Steve Davis and Brother Jack Hopper officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. King was born March 10, 1928 in Vildo to the late Charlie and Mamie Hammett King. He was the retired owner of King's Aluminum Service, a member of the Marlboro Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. His wife, Mattie Lou McMackin King, who passed away in 1984; two sisters, Welma White and Marie Melton and one brother, Wilburn King, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Gail King of Hollow Rock and Judy Surratt of Jackson; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; four great-grandchildren and five nieces and two nephews.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Connie Gene Carroll
1946-2002
HUNTINGDON:
Mr. Connie Gene Carroll, 56, died on Sunday, September 29 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 1 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. George Sellers officiating. Interment followed in the Carter's Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Carroll was born June 9, 1946 in Carroll County. He was a member of the Carter's Chapel Methodist Church and a construction worker. His father, Adrian Dwayne Carroll, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Carroll; three sons, Bobby Carroll and Jerry Carroll of Huntingdon and Jeff Carroll of Memphis; his mother, Vera Baumgardner of Cedar Grove; three brothers, Dwayne Carroll of Lavinia, Ray Carroll and Jimmy Carroll, both of Huntingdon; two step-brothers, Johnny B. Baumgardner and Willie Howard Baumgardner, both of Huntingdon and three grandchildren.
