Diane Barker Wall
1953-2002
MCKENZIE: Services for Diane Barker Wall, 49, were
held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 13 at the Bodkin
Funeral Home in Milan. Burial was in the Poplar Springs
Cemetery.
Mrs. Wall, a retired dental assistant, died Wednesday,
September 11 at her home.
She was born March 13, 1953 in McKenzie to Sarah Lorene
Pratt Barker and the late James Carnell Barker. She was
a member of the New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in
Cedar Grove.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Wall; a daughter,
Tara Maupin Allen, both of McKenzie; her mother, Lorene
Pratt Barker of Trezevant; and two granddaughters, Kodi
Warman and Sarah Allen.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
Willis Reuben Chandler, Jr.
1943-2002
MCKENZIE: Services for Willis Reuben Chandler, Jr.,
59, will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 25 at
Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Dennis Beal
officiating. Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery in
McKenzie.
Mr. Chandler, a mechanic, died at his home on Monday,
September 23.
He was born August 11, 1943 in McKenzie to the late Sara
Grace Huggins and Willis Reuben Chandler, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Ann Dunlap Chandler,
a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Matthew Chandler and
one grandson, Chandler Noah Chapman.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Anderson, Frank Morgan, Donald
Trull, Ray Trull, James (Doodle) Pruitt and Bob Brawner.
James Hugh Waldrup
1928-2002
MCKENZIE: Graveside services for James Hugh Waldrup,
74, were on at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, at
Shiloh Cemetery in McKenzie with Bro. Vance Rushing
officiating.
Mr. Waldrup, retired from the McKenzie Sanitation
Department, died on Monday, September 23 at Baptist
Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born on June 16, 1928 in Paducah to the late
Elsie Lee Strout and Bernice Waldrup.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Moore of
Bruceton and Judy Earls and Martha Myers, both of
McKenzie; a son, Eddie Waldrup of Hickory, Kentucky; two
sisters, Margie Hime and Iva Mae Fuzzell, both of
McKenzie, a brother, B.D. Waldrup of McKenzie; two
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Gracie Lee Buckley
1924-2002
CEDAR GROVE: Services for Gracie Lee Buckley, 78,
were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22 at Seats Chapel
Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Buckley, widow of Andie Lee Buckley, died Thursday,
September 19, at Methodist Healthcare of Lexington.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Browning of
Cedar Grove, Ilean Weathers of Huntingdon, and Evelyn
Parker and Marcella Henry, both of Lexington; two sons,
Wayne Buckley and James Buckley, both of Cedar Grove;
two sisters, Verda Mae Williams of Cedar Grove and Irene
Johnson of Benton Harbor, Michigan; and three brothers,
Leon Seats and Lue Seats, both of Cedar Grove and Floyd
Seats of Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Stephenson-Shaw Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge
of the arrangements.
Kenneth Jay Holland
1971-2002
ATWOOD: Services for Kenneth Jay Holland, 31, were
held a 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22 at Shelton-Hunt
Funeral Home. Burial followed in House Cemetery in
Atwood.
Mr. Holland, a truck driver, died Friday, September 20
at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. His father,
Horace G. Holland preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Holland of Lavinia;
one daughter, Kimberly Dianne Holland of Bradford; one
son, Kenneth J. Holland, Jr. of Bradford; two sisters,
Belinda Gay Mealer of Gadsden and Melissa Gail Moore of
Leach; two brothers, Denis Ray Holland of Trezevant and
Gaylon Dale Holland of Milan and his grandmother, Nannie
Fay Buckingham of Humboldt.
Leatrice C. Jenkins
1923-2002
GREENFIELD: Services for Leatrice C. Jenkins, 79,
were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21 at Williams
Funeral Home with burial in Hornbeak Cemetery.
Mrs. Jenkins died Wednesday, September 18.
Survivors include a daughter, Marie Hutcherson; two
sons, Jack Jenkins and Kenneth Jenkins; two brothers,
Billy Lon Cantrell and Bobby Fon Cantrell and a sister,
Lou Nell Cochran.
Glenn Dale Crider
1954-2002
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Glenn Dale Crider, 48, died
Thursday, September 19 at his home. Funeral services
were conducted on Sunday, September 22 in the Chase
Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Abbott officiating.
Entombment followed in the Carroll Mausoleum.
Mr. Crider was born February 17, 1954 in Carroll County.
He was a member of the Marlboro Church of Christ and a
carpenter. His father, Hubert O. Crider; two brothers,
Joe Crider and Justin Lee Crider; one daughter, Velma
Larue Patterson and one stepson, Michael Ray Pruett
preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Beaird Crider; his
mother, Viola Byford Crider of Hollow Rock; one
stepdaughter, Michelle Pruett Baker of Bruceton; one
stepson, Billy Pruett of Cedar Grove; six sisters, Kathy
Russell of Bruceton, and Mae Shelby, Dora Dobson, Margie
Bridges, Estelle Glisson, and Wanda Hardin, all of
Hollow Rock; three brothers, Hubert O. Crider, Jr.,
James Harold Crider and Paul Crider, all of Hollow Rock
and one step-grandson, Dakota Joseph Baker.
Lawrence Woodrow "Shorty" Grooms
1918-2002
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Lawrence Woodrow "Shorty" Grooms,
84, died on Saturday, September 21 at his home. Funeral
services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September
23 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott
Carter officiating. Interment followed in Hebron
Cemetery.
Mr. Grooms was born August 15, 1918 in Carroll County to
the late Tom and Ollie Dickerson Grooms. He was a
retired owner of Grooms Brothers Well Drilling and a
World War II army veteran. His first wife, Aline Bond
Grooms, a brother, Edgia Grooms and a sister, Lee
Kosovac preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Grooms; one daughter,
Carolyn Grooms Patton of Bartlett; two brothers, Richard
Grooms of Paducah, Kentucky and Gordon Grooms of
Bruceton; five sisters, Rena Houston of Madison Heights,
Michigan, Veron Obrecht of Lacanto, Florida, Nina
Smithson of Nashville, Dora Jean Holland of Camden and
Alva Melton of Camden; two grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
Shirley Ann Savage Krezinski King
1949-2002
MCKENZIE: Mrs. Shirley Ann Savage Krezinski King,
53, died Friday, September 20 at the Jackson-Madison
County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted
at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22 in the Dilday Funeral
Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Mann officiating.
Interment followed in the New Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Krezinski was born July 11, 1949, in Carroll County
to the late Marshall and Myrtle Haywood King. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include Joe Savage and Mike Krezinski, both of
McKenzie; one daughter, Kristy Lynn Krezinski of
McKenzie; one son, Christopher Joe Savage of McKenzie;
and two sisters, Sue Prince of McKenzie and Patsy Hodge
of Bruceton.
Cathy Odle
1946-2002
HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Cathy Odle, 56, died on Friday,
September 20 at the West Tennessee Skilled Nursing
Facility. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday,
September 22 at the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with
Elder Kenneth Stapleton officiating. Interment followed
at Davis Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Odle was born January 8, 1946 in Carroll County to
the late Frank and Odie Ritter Hodge. She was a CNA
nurse at the Huntingdon Health & Rehab Center. Her
husband, Kermit Odle and a granddaughter, Katie Odle,
preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Odle of Kingsport and
Chad Odle of Jackson and two sisters, Myrtle Davis of
Holladay and Kay Kelly of Jackson.
Edward Everett "Buddy" Pace
1926-2002
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Edward Everett "Buddy" Pace, Jr.,
76, died on Monday, September 23 at the Jackson-Madison
County General Hospital.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time.
