Hartz, Smith Advance to Spring Fling

Also participating at the regional level; were Hartz, Smith, Mallory Brandon and Mary Holland in the 1600 relay, where they finished seventh. Amber King placed fourth in the 3200 and fifth in the 1600 in individual competition.
 

 
Former Crockett County High School standout Sharon Allen has decided to join the Lady Wildcats basketball program of Bethel College for the 2002-2003 season. The 2000 Crockett County graduate is a 5'6" guard that is expected to fit into the Lady Wildcats three-point shooting style of play quickly.

Allen, an All-District performer for Crockett County originally signed with Jackson State Community College out of high school. She played for the Lady Generals during the 2000-2001 season, her only season in Jackson. Allen did not play college basketball last season and will be a sophomore at Bethel.

"Sharon is a great athlete that can shoot the three-pointer. She has a winners mentality and a great work ethic," said Lady Wildcats Head Coach Larry Eddings.

Bethel finished last season 20-11 and advanced to the NAIA East Independents Championship game.
