Jimmie Lou James
1925-2003
MCKENZIE: Services for Jimmie Lou James, 77,
formerly of Memphis, were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April
12 at Germantown Parkway Chapel with the Rev. Don
Capteron officiating. Burial was in the Memory Hills
Gardens.
Mrs. James, a retired pastry chef for Shelby County
Schools, died on Thursday, April 10 at the McKenzie
Regional Hospital.
She was born on August 22, 1925 in Benton County,
Mississippi to the late James Thomas and Myrtle Graves.
She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian
Church in McKenzie and McKenzie Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband, R.A. James, three
daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Gordon Potts of
Little Rock, Arkansas, Deloris and Bill Fuller of
Memphis and Cheriadeth and Bob Rutledge of McKenzie; two
sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Joanne James of
Brandon, Mississippi and Larry and Diane James of
Memphis; eight grandchildren, Don Tyner, Scott Fuller
and Justin James of Memphis, Ryan Fuller of
Hendersonville, Andy James of Decatur, Georgia, Trent
Rutledge of McKenzie, Carol Koon of Mabelvale, Arkansas
and Kim Fuller of Arlington; and seven
great-grandchildren, Alex Tyner, Alex Fuller, Cassie
Tyner, Jenna Fuller and Jessica Fuller, all of Memphis
and Gary Koon and Josh Koon, both of Mabelville,
Arkansas.
Memorials may be sent to the First Cumberland
Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.
Jacqueline Brenda Stanley
1947-2003
MCKENZIE: Services for Jacqueline Brenda Stanley, 56,
will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at Concord
Cemetery.
Mrs. Stanley died on Sunday, April 13 at the Medical
Center in Memphis.
She was born February 3, 1947 in Hackleburg, Alabama.
She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Stanley; a son, Gary
Stanley, Jr. of McKenzie; her mother, Girtha Burleson of
River Grove, Illinois; a brother, Jerry Armstrong of
River Grove, Illinois; and a sister, Linda Armstrong of
McKenzie. Her father, John Armstrong preceded her in

1919-2003
MCKENZIE: Services for Earl C. Christopherson, 83,
will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 17 at Brummitt
Funeral Home with Bro. Harrell Nation officiating. The
body will be cremated.
Mrs. Christopherson, retired head custodian at
Friendship Junior High in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, died
on Sunday, April 13 at Oak Manor Health Care Center in
McKenzie.
He was born on October 13, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to
the late Alma S. Christopherson and Charles
Christopherson. He was a member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He served
during World War II as a Carpenter's Mate 2nd Class
aboard the US Navy Seabee.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette M. Christopherson;
two daughters, Nancy Christopherson of Houston, Texas
and Cathy Gilmore of Olympia, Washington; a sister,
Pearl Cieslak of Green Valley, Arizona and two
grandchildren, Jeron Gilmore and Shannon Gilmore.
Hattie Mae Roberts
1906-2003
BRUCETON: Mrs. Hattie Mae Roberts, 97, died on
Saturday, April 12 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in
Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday,
April 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel
with Bro. David Bass officiating. Interment followed in
the New Hope Cemetery in Vale.
Mrs. Roberts was born January 9, 1906 in Ennice, North
Carolina to the late Robert M. and Lucy Todd Tompkins.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She was also
preceded in death by her husband, Dan Roberts, who died
October 16, 1989, one son, Boyd Ken Roberts, who died in
1977 and three grandsons.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Kisala of
Huntingdon and Virgie Crouse of Camden; one son, Wayne
Roberts of Hollow Rock; one sister, Violet Roark of
King, North Carolina and one brother, Paul Tompkins of
Sparta, North Carolina; ten grandchildren and fourteen
great-grandchildren.
Paula Bowen Kee
1923-2003
HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Paula Bowen Kee, 79, died on
Friday, April 11 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral
services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 14
at the Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Ed Fisher
officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Hill
Cemetery.
Mrs. Kee was born on July 12, 1923 in Northam, West
Australia to the late Lynum and Matilda Mary Leeson
Bowen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester
Clinton Kee. She was a member of the Holy Family
Catholic Church and a retired employee of Henry I.
Siegel.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Pierce of
Huntingdon; one sister, Marion Case of Western
Australia; five grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Nannie Ruth Adams
1927-2003
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA: Services for Nannie Ruth
Adams, 75, were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 16 at
Greater Enon Baptist Church in McKenzie with Rev. James
Stewart officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet
Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams died on Monday, April 7 at her residence in
Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was born on August 30, 1926 in Walnut, Mississippi
to the late Tory Lee Adams and Mary Gunn Adams.
Survivors include two sons, Harry Adams and Kenny Adams,
both of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Bernice
Beasley of McKenzie, Marzella Gunn of Gibson, and Mattie
Woodruff of Detroit, Michigan and three brothers, Johnny
Adams of Cleveland, Ohio, J.F. Adams of Forrest City,
Arkansas and Benny Adams of Henry.
Trinity Funeral Home of Paris was in charge of the
arrangements.
Laura Leigh Parish Khokhar
1966-2003
Laura Leigh Parish Khokhar, 37, of Cordova, formerly of
Huntingdon, former social worker for AGAPE and preschool
teacher for Highland Street Church of Christ in Memphis,
died Friday, April 11, at Baptist Memorial
Hospital-Memphis. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, April
14, at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis with burial
in Memorial Park there.
She was a member of Highland Street Church of Christ.
Mrs. Khokhar, the wife of Wasim Khokhar for 10 years,
also leaves two daughters, Claire Yasmin Khokhar and
Caroline Aliya Khokhar, and a son, Seth Hadayat Khokhar,
all of Cordova; her parents, Joan and Bobby Parish of
Huntingdon, and two brothers, Andy Parish of Old Hickory
and Tim Parish of Hartsville.
