  Clarence H. Goodrich
1921-2003
COOS BAY, OREGON:
A memorial service for Clarence H Goodrich, 81, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18 at Coos Bay Chapel, 685 Anderson Avenue.
He was born November 18, 1921 in Trenton. He died of a heart attack on April 14 in Coos Bay.
In 1942, he married Hattie and they had four children. He served in the United States Army during World War II. In 1949, they moved to Oregon, where he worked in the lumber industry until he retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1982.
He is survived by his wife Hattie, sons and daughters-in-law Virgil and Nadine Goodrich of North Bend and Roger and Cheryl Goodrich of Oregon, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and James McIntyre of Forest Grove; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Paul Warf of Coos Bay, Peggy and Dale Mullins of Corvallis and Ada and Ronnie McCombs of Mississippi; brothers-in-law and wives Lee and Cookie Alford of Springfield and Deail and Janie and Billy and Benny Alford, all of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
His son, William Clarence Goodrich preceded him in death in 1967. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Rufus and Nannie B. Goodrich; brothers, James and R.C. Goodrich and sisters Maggie Churchwell and Margie Killen.

Joe R. Dunlap
1924-2003
CEDAR GROVE:
Services for Joe R. Dunlap, 78, were at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27 at Little Grove Baptist Church in Lavinia with burial in the Little Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Dunlap, widower of Ora Lee Dunlap, died on Wednesday, April 23.
He was born on May 18, 1924 to Bishop and Flossie Dunlap. He attended Webb High School in McKenzie and the Little Grove Baptist Church in Lavinia.
Survivors include four sons, Joe R. Dunlap, Jr., of Cedar Grove, James Dunlap, Bobby Dunlap and William L. Dunlap, all of Milan; two daughters, Phyllis Dunlap of Milan and Lisa Dunlap of Ronturan, Illinois; one sister, Mamie Byrd of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 14 grandchildren and several other relatives.
Bond Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Isabelle Mae Kemper
1919-2003
GOODLETTSVILLE:
Isabelle Mae Kemper, also known as "Didee" and "Ikky" died on Thursday, April 24. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Kemper, her parents, William McKinley and Katie Ruth Lassiter and her brothers, Leroy and Randall Lassiter. Survivors include her sons, John T. Kemper Jr. (Judith A) and William M. Kemper (Lewellyn J.); her daughter, Barbara Joyce Kemper Ferguson; one daughter-in-law, Nancy B. Works; grandchildren Jamie Kemper, John Kemper III (Sue), Beth Kemper, Billy Kemper, David Ferguson, Michael Ferguson, Evan Kemper and Miriam Kemper; great-grandchildren Andi Ferguson, Heather Ferguson, Amanda Ferguson and Macy Kemper; sisters and brothers, William Lassiter (Margaret), Jean Spillers (John), Robert Lassiter (Helene), Dora Ferguson (Raymond), Vivian Fay (Richard), Joann Evans (Raymond), Peggy Honeycutt (Roy), and John Anthony "Tony" Lassiter (Carolyn); sisters-in-law, Jane Lassiter and Bill Lassiter; beloved friend Mable Parrott and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cole and Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville was in charge of the arrangements. Services were Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Gene Gober officiating. Interment followed in Luton's Chapel Cemetery in Goodlettsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Luton's Chapel Cemetery Fund.

Joyce Lee Moody
1940-2003
MCKENZIE:
Services for Joyce Lee Moody, 62, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 11 at Gallimore Chapel Funeral Home in Gleason with the Rev. Bob Copeland officiating. Burial was in the Hopewell Cemetery.
Mrs. Moody, retired restaurant owner, died Wednesday, April 9 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born August 5, 1940 in Westport, Arkansas to the late Willie and Thelma Todd Jones.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Kanhdz of McKenzie; a brother, John Jones of Marcellus, Michigan; a sister, Edith Burchard of Portage, Michigan and four grandchildren.

Cosette Jordan Melton
1909-2003
PARIS:
Services for Cosette Jordan Melton, 93, formerly of Bruceton, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Jordan officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery near Camden.
She was born August 5, 1909 in Benton County to the late James Wrightman Jordan and Dosie Hicks Jordan. She was a member of the St. John Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarita Walker of Paris and five grandchildren.
Her husband, Joyce Melton preceded her in death.

George Morgan Fowler
1924-2003
WINGO, KENTUCKY:
Services for George Morgan Fowler, 79, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 30 at Brown Funeral Home in Wingo with the Revs. Chad Lamb and Rayland (Bubba) Smith officiating. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery.
Mr. Fowler, retired employee of the Milan Arsenal, died on Sunday, April 27 at Heritage Manor. He attended Enon Baptist Church and was a World War II army veteran.
Survivors include five sons, Larry Fowler of McKenzie, George Wayne Fowler of Glen, Mississippi, Gerald Wade Fowler and Benjamin Lee Fowler, both of Corinth, Mississippi and Ronnie Atwood of Atwood; a daughter, Nancy Kay Edgins of Trezevant; a stepson, Paul Camp of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; a stepdaughter, Doris Dodd Hobbs of New Mexico; four brothers, Bryant Fowler, Hershel Fowler, Clovis Fowler and David Fowler, all of Mayfield, Kentucky; three sisters, Lear Wiley of Mayfield, Kentucky, Polly Morefield of Wingo, Kentucky and Geraldine McClure of Fulgham, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
A sister, Dovi Mae Gilpin; his second wife, Betty camp, his parents, Felix and Lelear Cox Fowler; a son, Terry Lynn Fowler; a daughter, Charlotte Jane Fowler; and two brothers, Dexter (Hoss) and Hempel Fowler all preceded him in death.

George H. Batey
1925-2003
BRUCETON:
Graveside services for George H. Batey, 77, formerly of Joiner Arkansas were on Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hebron Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Batey died on Wednesday, April 23.
He was born August 8, 1925 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late Earl and Annie Batey. He was a member of Joiner Baptist Church and a retired farmer. He was also a World War II navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Batey; three sons, Garry Batey and Larry Batey, both of Bruceton and Mike Batey of Wilson, Arkansas; a daughter, Debra Hutcherson of Decaturville; a brother, Shirley Batey of Willis, Michigan; five sisters, Ruby Lacey of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Louise Yahn, address unknown, Irene Reynolds of Broodhead, Kentucky, Patsy Blackburn of Bruceton and Lou Ann Krupusky of Sheet, Maryland; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Roller-Swift Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Donald Ray Harmon, Jr.
1957-2003
MILAN:
Mr. Donald Ray Harmon, Jr., 46, died on Saturday, April 26 at the McKenzie Regional Medical Center in McKenzie. Memorial services were conducted on Tuesday, April 29 at 4:00 p.m. at the Free Will Mission Church in Atwood with Brother Robert Whitmore officiating.
Mr. Harmon was born on January 23, 1957 in Woodville, Texas. He was an employee of the AAA Plumbing and Electrical. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Harmon, Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Elizabeth Garrison of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Kimberly Summers of San Antonio, Texas and Dynoia Webster of Elgin, South Carolina; three brothers, Glenn E. Gerard III of Unionville, Connecticut, Douglas Floyd of Elgin, South Carolina and Thomas Jefferson Harmon of Vidor Texas; several nieces and nephews and several aunts and uncles.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Elizabeth Iann Cary
1937-2003
HOLLOW ROCK:
Services for Elizabeth Iann Cary, 66, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26 at Bruceton Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial was in the Prospect Cemetery.
Mrs. Cary, a retired secretary for Carroll Farmers Co-Op and HIS, died Friday, April 25 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
She was born on February 28, 1937 in Colt, Arkansas to the late Wilbur Ernest Hamilton and Mable Lee Clecc Hamilton. Due to the death of her mother, she was reared by her Aunt and Uncle Lucille and Richard Clecc.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Lee Cary; a daughter, Tina Marie Madden of Jackson; a son, Ricky Garrett of Arkansas; two stepdaughters, Beth Devault of Hollow Rock and Pam Gallimore of Bruceton; two stepsons, Steve Cary and Mark Cary, both of Hollow Rock and two grandchildren.

Bertha Akers Martin
1920-2003
MCKENZIE:
Services for Bertha Akers Martin, 83, were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26 at the First Presbyterian Church USA in McKenzie with Dr. Howard Walton officiating. Burial was in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Martin, retired from Wilker Brothers, Mfg., died Wednesday, April 23 at McKenzie Health Care Center.
She was born February 21, 1920 in McKenzie, daughter of the late Alma Williams Akers and Lonnie Akers. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church USA in McKenzie.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Martin of McKenzie and Patsy (Eddie) Lopez of Jurica, Mexico; a bother, Lonnie Akers, Jr. of Huntingdon; three sisters, Ann Cook of Huntingdon, Fannie Murphy of Dickson and Linda Climer of Regan, an aunt, Maxie Presson of McKenzie and one grandchild, Trinity Lopez of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Sissy Bomar
1958-2003
MCKENZIE:
Sherry Lynn "Sissy" Bomar, 44, died Tuesday, April 22 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville from injuries in a one-vehicle accident south of Henry on Monday, April 21. Services were at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 24 at Apostolic Chapel Church southeast of Paris with Dwight Turner officiating. Burial was in the Henry County Tabernacle Cemetery in Springville.
Born August 10, 1958 in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Carleen Smith Hickman of Paris and Johnny Day of Indianapolis.
She was engaged to Ricky Shands of McKenzie. Ms. Bomar was a homemaker. Additional survivors include two daughters, Shurrus Wilson of Paris and Shanda Wilson of Henry; one sister, Patty Wolfe of Mooresville, Indiana; two brothers, Tommy Hickman of Paris and Terry Day of Bruceton; a grandmother, Ivaleen Smith of Paris and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Hickman and her grandfather, Carman E. Smith.

John R. Nuszbaum
1937-2003
MCKENZIE:
John Richard Nuszbaum, 65, died on Saturday, April 19 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. His body was donated to science.
A memorial service was held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23 at Foundry Hill Community of Christ Church near Puryear where he was a member.
Born December 20, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Pauline Nuszbaum.
He retired as a truck driver with Milan Express.
In addition to his wife, Carol, he leaves two daughters, Sandy Marie Krekemeyer of Norman, Oklahoma and Erica Sandoval of McKenzie; two sister, Irene Ayers of Waynesboro and Ivajean Heckert of Salem, Indiana, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Charles Max Ray Jones
1932-2003
MCKENZIE:
Services for Charles Max Ray Jones, 70, were at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24 at the First Presbyterian Church, USA in McKenzie with Rev. Howard Walton and Rev. William Bailey officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Jones, a wholesale distributor for C.H. Summers Wholesale Candy Company, died on April 22 at McKenzie Regional Hospital in McKenzie.
He was born September 18, 1932, son of the late George Jones and Della Glosier Jones. He was an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church USA; a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Martin Jones; a son, Charles Martin Jones of McKenzie; a daughter, Elizabeth Jones Lott of McKenzie; sister, Maxine Schuerenburg, Geraldine Kelley and Dorothy Redding, all of Jackson and two grandchildren, Holly Lott and Ben Lott, both of McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin Jones, Edward Jones and J.O. Jones and his sisters, Helen Middleton and Mary Britt.

James A. Harris
1927-2003
MCKENZIE:
Services for James A. Harris, 75, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27 at McKenzie Church of Christ with Bro. Jim Roberts and Bro. Kenneth Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Carroll Memorial Gardens in McKenzie.
Mr. Harris, a retired farmer, died Friday, April 25 at his home in McKenzie. He was born on September 4, 1927 in Yuma. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Faye Harris of McKenzie; two sisters, Elizabeth Barlow and husband Karl of McKenzie and Ruth H. Bucy and husband Ralph, also of McKenzie; nine nieces, seven nephews, several great nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Odell Harris; one sister, Onell Bannister and one niece, Lori Lynn Sexton.

Vernice Wilson Burse
1921-2003
ATWOOD:
Services for Vernice Wilson Burse, 83, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19 at Curry Funeral Home Chapel with burial in New Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Burse, retired from Ceco Steel, died on Sunday, April 27 at NHC Healthcare in Milan. Burial was in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgeley. He was a member of the Cades Church of Christ in Milan.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Estes Burse; two daughters, Jenell Hathcock of Bradford and Barbara Chism of Ridgely; two sons, Glen Burse of Dyersburg and Jerry Burse of Columbia; a sister, Irene Tomerlin of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Raymond Burse of Bogota; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
His parents, Ruben and Dener Burse; a sister, Fay Weatherford; a grandson Mackie Glen Chism and a great-great-grandson, Jacob Glenn Scott all preceded him in death.

Billy J. Autry
1948-2003
HUNTINGDON:

Lisa Marie Stewart Matthews
Lisa Marie Stewart Matthews, 27, of John's Island, South Carolina, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in John's Island. Memorial services for Mrs. Matthews were held Saturday, April 26, 2003.
Mrs. Matthews was an Office Manager for Bees Ferry Veterinary Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. She was also working on an Associate Degree in Horticulture and was a member of the S.C. Native Plants Society. Mrs. Matthews was born July 24, 1975 in Martin. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Presley Stewart.
Mrs. Matthews is survived by her husband, Terrance "Terry" Patrick Matthews; her mother and stepfather, Mary T. Coker and Charlie; two brothers, Gary Stewart and Kenneth Coker; and a sister, Rana Stewart.
