Sam Howard Barnhart
1951-2003
MCKENZIE: Paris native Sam Howard Barnhart, 51, died
on Thursday, January 30 at McKenzie Regional Hospital in
McKenzie after an illness.
Services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2
at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Ray Forrest
officiating. The body was to be cremated with visitation
on Saturday, February 1.
Born on July 15, 1951, he was a son of the late James
Gardell Barnhart and Lucille Barnhart McElroy. He was a
car dealer.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory Barnhart of Paris
and Leslie Barnhart of Livingston, Texas; two daughters,
Tammy Barnhart of McKenzie and Stephanie Hartmann of
Livingston, Texas; three brothers, Joe and Thomas
Barnhart, both of McKenzie and Jessie Barnhart of
Wisconsin; one sister, Wanda Faye Barnhart of
Huntingdon; five grandchildren and five
step-grandchildren.
Olan Butler
1918-2003
HOLLOW ROCK: Services for Olan Butler, 84, were at
2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7 at Bruceton Funeral Home
with the Rev. Billy Joe Hilliard officiating. Burial was
in Butler’s Chapel Cemetery in Buena Vista.
Mr. Butler, a retired front press operator for Reynolds
Aluminum, died on Wednesday, February 5 at Baptist
Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born on July 21, 1918 in Buena Vista to the late
Clyde and Media Rhodes Butler. He was a member of the
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, June Cline of
Georgia and Joann Sanitori of Virginia; four sisters,
Crystal Britton of Bruceton, Edwina Prince and Arabia
Drinkard, both of Camden and Ruth Bryant of Dyersburg;
two brothers, Loren C. Butler of Hobart, Indiana and
Billy Gene Butler of Buena Vista.
His wife, Marjorie Butler and a sister, Maxine Cupples
preceded him in death.
Susie Catherine Tegethoff
1921-2003
MCKENZIE: Services for Susie Catherine Tegethoff,
81, homemaker, were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7 at
Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie. Burial was in
Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Tegethoff died on Wednesday, February 5 at her
residence.
She was born on November 1, 1921 in Lavinia, daughter of
the late James Walter White and Mary Bessie Haynes
White.
Surviving are two sons, Joe Tegethoff and Charles
Tegethoff, both of McKenzie; two daughters, Betty
Crocker of Greenfield and Wyvonne Rogers of McKenzie;
seven half brothers and sisters, eleven grandchildren
and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Robert Tegethoff; a son, Billy Tegethoff; a
brother, James White and one grandchild, Amy Tegethoff
all preceded her in death.
Joe Larry McDaniel
1948-2003
LEXINGTON: Services for Joe Larry McDaniel, 54, were
held at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 7 at Reed’s
Chapel in Lexington. Burial was in the Center Ridge
Cemetery.
Mr. McDaniel, a construction worker died on Wednesday,
February 5 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He sustained severe burns while doing contract work at
Norandal, Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Carol McDaniel; one
daughter, Shoral Horton of Lexington; two sons, Jamie
McDaniel and Joey McDaniel, both of Lexington; four
sisters, Debbie Urb of Ohio, Helen Edwards of Georgia,
Jean Kyle of Lexington, and Joyce McDaniel of Ohio; one
brother, Peter McDaniel of Lexington and one grandchild.
Olean Coleman
1933-2003
MCKENZIE: Funeral services for Olean Coleman, 69,
were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9 at Brummitt
Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Dennis Beal and Bro.
Tony Janner officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery. Mrs. Coleman, a homemaker, died on Friday,
February 7 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born on March 11, 1933 in McKenzie, a daughter
of the late Herbert and Mary Ann Bowers.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Coleman; two sons,
Ricky Joe Coleman of Huntingdon and Kenneth Coleman of
McKenzie; a daughter, Melissa Chandler of McKenzie and
three grandchildren, Jeff Chandler, Christi Coleman and
Tanner Coleman.
Nell Drinkard
1932-2003
HOLLOW ROCK: Services for Mrs. Nell Drinkard, 70,
were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7 at Bruceton
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Davis officiating.
Burial was in the New Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Drinkard died on Wednesday, February 5. She was the
widow of Cortez Drinkard.
She was born on April 30, 1932 in Benton County to the
late Algie Buron Jordan and Martha Gertrude Fields
Jordan. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gertie Forrest Baskin
of McKenzie and Tammy Forrest Hollingsworth of Hollow
Rock; two sons, Raymond Jordan of Hollow Rock and Wayne
Forrest of Bruceton; two sisters, Garnetta Stagner of
Hollow Rock and Irene Carey of Bruceton; 14
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
