HOWARD ARCHIE NOLEN
1984 – 2003
MCKENZIE: Howard Archie Nolen, 19, was pronounced
dead on arrival at McKenzie Regional Hospital following
a motorcycle accident Tuesday, July 8. Services will be
held Saturday, July 12 at 2 p.m. at Greater Enon Baptist
Church in McKenzie. Rev. James H. Stewart will
officiate. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Saturday at Greater Enon Church. Burial will be in Mt.
Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie with Trinity Funeral Home of
Paris in charge.
Mr. Nolen graduated from McKenzie High School in 2002.
He was a member of Greater Enon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Gloria Gibbs Nolen and
George Nolen Jr. of McKenzie, and one sister, Harriet
Nolen of McKenzie.James Doyle Lowe
1929-2003
HOLLOW ROCK: Services for James Doyle Lowe, 74, were
at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 7 at Bruceton Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Rich officiating. Burial was
in the New Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Lowe, retired production worker for Walbosh Box
Company, died on Friday, July 4 at Life Care Center in
Bruceton.
He was born June 10, 1929 in Hollow Rock to the late
Curtis Riley Lowe and Merlie May Rogers Lowe. He was a
navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Lowe; two sons, James
Robert Lowe and Timothy Doyle Lowe, both of Hollow Rock;
two brothers, Harold Lowe of Camden and John Lowe of
Huntingdon.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Kay
Lowe.
Annie Gladys Dennison
1910-2003
LAVINIA: Services for Annie Gladys Dennison, 92,
were at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 4 at the Bodkin Funeral
Home with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery near Lavinia.
Mrs. Dennison, retired employee of HIS died on Tuesday,
July 1 at McKenzie Healthcare Center. She was a member
of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
She was the widow of Haywood Dennison and was preceded
in death by a brother, Tom Bray.
Survivors include a daughter, Eloise Dennison
Baumgardner of Lavinia; a brother, Lonnie Bray of
Lavinia; three grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
Jane Ann Miller
1928-2003
BRUCETON: Services for Jane Ann Miller, 74, were at
3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6 at Bruceton Funeral Home
Chapel with Bro. Ted Gentle officiating. Burial was in
the Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Miss Miller, retired legal secretary for Hanover and
Walsh Law Firm in Memphis, died Thursday, July 3 at
Alive Hospice Friends for Life in Nashville.
She was born November 14, 1928 to the late Wall Grady
Miller and Willie Truman Lancaster Miller. She was a
member of the Bruceton Church of Christ.
Survivors include a sister Lou Nell Elkins of Bruceton;
two nephews and two nieces.
Miss Miller was preceded in death by a brother Max
Miller and a nephew David Elkins.
J.W. Hopper
1926-2003
GLEASON: Services for J.W. Hopper, 76, were at 2:00
p.m., Sunday, July 6 at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Roy Auvenshine officiating. Burial was in
Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Hopper, retired employee of Southern Star Sawmill,
died Thursday, July 3 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was born November 7, 1926 in Trezevant to the late
William Clint and Martha Jane Hargrove Hopper. He was a
member of the Trezevant First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, David Hopper of McKenzie,
Tommy Hopper of Gleason and Don Hopper of Greenfield;
two daughters, Brenda Nelson of Greenfield and Rose
Anderson of Gleason; two brothers, Hollis Hopper of
McKenzie and Carlos Wade Hopper of Memphis; sixteen
grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Hopper;
two brothers, Elvin Hopper and Leo Hopper and a sister,
Lizzie Chandler.
Willard Dean Brush
1917-2003
MCKENZIE: Services for Willard Dean Brush, 86,
retired owner of Brush Brothers Milling Company, were at
3:00 p.m., Monday, July 7 at Brummitt Funeral Home in
McKenzie with the Rev. Tony Janner and Rev. Bob Hull
officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in
McKenzie.
Mr. Brush died on Saturday, July 5 at McKenzie Regional
Hospital.
He was born in Greenfield on May 27, 1917, to the late
Henry and Lou Ellen Trentham Brush and was a member of
the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.
Surviving are his son, Joe Frank Brush of McKenzie; a
daughter, Nellie Ann Dailey of Martin; a sister,
Vaughnell Brush Webb of McKenzie; six grandchildren and
eight great-grandchildren.
Caroline Mitchum Bacigalupo Kelley
1930-2003
ALBERMARLE, NORTH CAROLINA: Mrs. Caroline Mitchum
Bacigalupo Kelley, formerly of McKenzie, died on Friday,
July 4 after a long illness. Graveside services were at
2:00 p.m., Monday, July 7 at Woodlawn Cemetery in
Nashville.
She was born September 17, 1930 in Chattanooga to the
late Charles and Ethel Mitchum. She was a graduate of
McKenzie High School.
A retired medical transcriptionist, she was an active
member of the First Assembly Church. She was also
preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bacigalupo.
She was married to Robert M. Kelley of Albermarle.
Survivors also include a daughter, Carol Clough of
Omaha, Nebraska; a son, Charles Martin Bacigalupo of
Conover, North Carolina; a brother, Col. D.K. Mitchum of
McKenzie and seven grandchildren.

Garvin Noles
1922-2003
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Garvin Noles, 81, died on Thursday,
July 3 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 5 at
2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.
Andrew Stokes officiating. Interment followed in the
Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Benton County.
Mr. Noles was born February 27, 1922 in Buena Vista to
the late Clarence Edward and Ellie Ann Abbott Noles. He
was a World War II army veteran and a self-employed
store owner. He was also preceded in death by one
brother, Dwayne Noles.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Lee Noles;
two sons, Kenny Noles of Paris and Keith Noles of Buena
Vista; and seven grandchildren.
Infant Diavion Nashay Gilbert

Infant Diavion Nashay Gilbert passed away Monday, June
30 at the McKenzie Regional Hospital. Graveside funeral
services were conducted on Wednesday, July 2 at 3:00
p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
She is survived by her mother, Shania Caudill; father,
Eric Gilbert; sister, Aryanna Gilbert; maternal
grandmother, Frankie Noles; maternal grandfather, Leon
Caudill; paternal grandmother, Ida Gean Harris Gilbert;
paternal grandfathers, Moses Harris and Carol Townes.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Larry R. Boone, Sr.
1952-2003
SPRINGVILLE: A graveside service for Larry Royce
Boone, Sr. was at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28 at the
Antioch Cemetery in Springville.
Boone, 51, died Friday, June 27 at the Henry County
Medical Center after suffering a heart attack.
Born February 6, 1952 in Dyersburg, he was a son of
O'Neal and Mattie Robinson Boone, both deceased.
He was married on September 19, 1992 to the former
Myrtle Killcrease, who survives. Other survivors include
a son, Larry R. Boone, Jr. of Washington; two
stepdaughters, Chewanna Ray and Jessica Boone, both of
Henry; two stepsons, Junior Boone of Springville and
Keith Boone of Henry; two sisters, Betty Smith and Ann
Webb, both of Halls; five brothers, Terry Boone and Rick
Boone, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Speck Boone and
Earnest Boone, both of Dyersburg and Roy Boone of
Memphis; and two grandchildren.
Doris Lerie DePriest
1920-2003
TREZEVANT: Services for Doris Lerie DePriest, 82,
were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 8 at Bodkin Funeral
Home with burial in Hopewell Cemetery near Lavinia.
Mrs. DePriest died on Sunday, July 6 at Regional
Hospital in Jackson. She was a member of the Spring Hill
Baptist Church near Huntingdon.
Survivors include her husband, J.B. DePriest; one
daughter, Judy Diane Garrard of Jackson; one son, Jerry
Donald DePriest of Trezevant; one sister, Gail Gatlin of
Cedar Grove; four grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.

Mary Virginia Steiner
1915-2003
BRUCETON: Mrs. Mary Virginia Steiner, 88, died on
Monday, June 30 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, July 3 at
1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother
Robert Simmons officiating. Interment followed in the
Hebron Cemetery.
Mrs. Steiner was born February 13, 1915 in Indianapolis,
Indiana, to the late Earl and Cecil Lydick Stewart. She
was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her
husband, John C. Steiner.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Pruitt of
Rockville, Indiana; one son, David C. Eitleman of Buena
Vista; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Julian "Jim" Hubbard McInnis
1938-2003
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Julian "Jim" Hubbard McInnis, 64,
died on Thursday, July 3 at his home. Memorial services
will be Wednesday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith in
Christ Ministries with Wayne Burton officiating.
Mr. McInnis was born on October 2, 1938 in Longbranch,
New Jersey to the late Daniel McGillvary and Mabel
Hubbard McInnis. He was a material manager for Pan
American Airlines and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Callahan
McInnis; one daughter, Donna Miller of West Palm Bay,
Florida; three sons, Steve McInnis of Jensen Beach,
Florida; David McInnis of Cedar Grove and Gregory
McInnis of Crawfordville, Florida; four sisters, Pat
Himsly of Charlotte, North Carolina, Phyllis Slocum of
Conyers, Georgia, Dana Dearce and Marie Pyeatt, both of
Miami, Florida; one brother, Dan McInnis of Manchester,
Tennessee and seven grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

PARIS: Cheryl K. Neal, 44, was dead on arrival
Thursday, July 3 at Henry County Medical Center
following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 79,
northeast at Paris Landing. Services were at 2:00 p.m.,
Monday, July 7 at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with
Jim Robinson officiating. Interment followed in Walker
Cemetery.
Born November 16, 1958, in Wynne, Arkansas, she was the
daughter of Odell Neal of Paris and the late Betty Jean
Mitchell Neal. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist
Church.
Survivors also include two sisters, Barbara Boyd and
Nancy Nelson, both of Paris. |
