Issac Richardson, Jr.
1924-2003
PALM SPRINGS: Issac Eugene Richardson, Jr., 78, died
on February 10 at Palm Springs.
He was born February 12, 1924 to Issac Eugene and
Beatrice Cage Richardson in Louisville, KY. He married
Betty Johnson on August 22, 1948 in Huntingdon.
He was an engineer with General Motors for 26 years. He
was a lifetime member of B.P.O. Elks and the Veterans of
Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
He served in the United States Army from 1942-1946.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Palm Springs; five
sons, Issac E. III of Lake in the Hills, Illinois,
Patrick of Grayslake, Illinois, Tom of Marina Del Rey,
Joseph of Key West, Florida and John of Encinitas; his
sister, Patricia Hackney of Hendersonville; two
brothers, James W. and Harold, both of Hendersonville;
eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Private services were at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, July 20 in
Huntingdon. The body was cremated. Inurnment was held
privately at Clark Cemetery in Huntingdon.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the local
arrangements.Bertha Harris
1899-2003
HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Bertha Harris, 104, died on Friday,
July 18 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on
Sunday, July 20 at 3:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home
Chapel with Reverend Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment
followed in the Barr Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris, daughter of the late Roland and Elizabeth
Reed Robinson, was born May 6, 1899 in Carroll County.
She was the widow of Earnie Harris, who died in 1979, a
homemaker and a member of the Davis Chapel Methodist
Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Jean Brandon and
Cluster Scott, both of Huntingdon; two grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren and three nieces.
Gayle Fields Richardson
1954-2003
BROWNSVILLE: Gayle Fields Richardson, 49, died
Wednesday, July 16 after a 14-month battle with cancer.
Services were held on Friday, July 18 at Brownsville
Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Connerley and Bro.
Samuel Young officiating. Interment was in the
Brownsville Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her father, James M.
“Booker” Fields, her sister, Mitzie Kaye Fields and a
stepdaughter, Jenni Richardson.
Survivors include her husband, Lynn Richardson of
Brownsville; three sons, Tim Hopper, Anthony “Shag”
Hopper and Jerry D. Hopper, all of Martin; one daughter,
Tammy K. Sonnefeld of Martin; one stepson, Joseph
Bradley Richardson of Brownsville; her mother, Eunice
Fields of Gleason; four sisters, Doris J. Williams of
Alco, Arkansas; Dorothy Sellers of Collierville;
Patricia Hardwick and Marilyn Bell, both of Gleason; one
brother, James “Jim” Fields of McKenzie and three
grandchildren, Shelby Smoot, Hanna Sonnefeld and Jackson
Reed Hopper.
Clayton Wesley Milam
1928-2003
HUMBOLDT: Funeral services for Clayton Wesley Milam,
75, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21 at
Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home with Bobby Beacham
officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr.
Milam, a minister, died Saturday, July 19 at Humboldt
General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Milam.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy M. Brockman of Olive
Branch, Mississippi; three sons, Danny Clayton Milam of
Humboldt, John Timothy Milam of Olive Branch,
Mississippi and Mark Anthony Milam of Smithville; two
sisters, June Moore of Wildersville and Marcelle Gowan
of Cedar Grove; six grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Bryant Caldwell Marsh
1911-2003
TREZEVANT: Services for Bryant Caldwell Marsh, 92,
were at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at Bodkin Funeral
Home in Milan. Burial was in Morris Cemetery in
Greenfield.
Mr. Marsh, a retired school bus driver, died on
Thursday, July 17 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
Mr. Marsh was a member of the Trezevant United Methodist
Church and of the American Legion, Trezevant Post. He
was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran, where he was
a P.O.W.
He is survived by one daughter, Marsha Marsh of
Trezevant; four nephews and one niece. He was preceded
in death by his wife, Robbie Bryant Marsh; two sisters,
Glendola McElroy and Marie Cochran and one brother,
Monroe Marsh.
Iva Mae Roberts
1918-2003
MCKENZIE: Services for Iva Mae Roberts, 84, were
Friday, July 18 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Vance
Rushing officiating. Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts, a homemaker, died on Tuesday, July 15 at
McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born on December 3, 1918 in Paducah, Kentucky to
the late Elsie Stroud Waldrup and Burnice Waldrup.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Roberts and Bobby Joe
Roberts and a sister, Margie Hime, all of McKenzie.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard
Roberts and Eck Fuzzell.
Clarice Franks Walker
1908-2003
BRUCETON: Services for Clarice Franks Walker, 95,
were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 22 at Bruceton Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial was in Butler’s Chapel Cemetery in
Buena Vista.
Mrs. Walker, a retired teacher for Benton County School
System, died on Sunday, July 20 at Life Care Center in
Bruceton.
Survivors include one son, John Walker of Cardiff,
California and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wendell
Walker.
Charlie Mae Francisco
1912-2003
HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Charles E. (Charlie Mae) Francisco,
91, died on Friday, July 18 at Jackson-Madison County
General Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services
were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 21 at
Huntingdon First United Methodist Church. Interment
followed in the Clark Cemetery in Huntingdon.
Mrs. Francisco, the daughter of the late Arthur and Nina
Grooms Campbell was born in Greenfield on April 12,
1912. She lived in Huntingdon after moving there with
her family in the mid 1920’s as her father was
responsible for building the first paved roads in
Carroll County. In 1929, she married Charles Francisco.
Mrs. Francisco served in the Carroll County Red Cross
office during World War II. She worked along side her
husband at the Carroll County Electric Department until
retirement in 1975. After retirement, she managed
various rental properties in Huntingdon and Greenfield.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in
Huntingdon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin
Francisco. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Wayne
Leslie of Jackson; a son, Charles Campbell Francisco of
Harvard, Massachusetts; a brother, Wason Gardner
Campbell of Knoxville; four grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Deborah Carol Blaylock
1957-2003
BRUCETON: Graveside services for Deborah Carol
Blaylock, 46, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at
Massey Liles Cemetery with Rev. James Daniel
officiating.
Mrs. Blaylock, a respiratory therapist in Beaumont,
Texas, died on Saturday, July 12 at Baptist Hospital in
Beaumont, Texas. The body was cremated.
She was born January 26, 1957 in Milan to Elma and
Carolyn Crutchfield Blaylock of Nashville. She was
employed at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in
Beaumont, Texas and Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a
daughter, Lisa Lee Page of White House; a son, Michael
Hannah of Goodlettsville; a brother, Joe B. Blaylock of
Joelton and two grandchildren.
Paul Manuel Hedge
1926-2003
BRUCETON: Services for Paul Manuel Hedge, 77, were
at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at Bruceton Funeral Home
Chapel with the Revs. Leonard Greer and Lynn Stapleton
officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery.
Mr. Hedge, retired carman for CSX Railroad, died on
Friday, July 18 at Jackson-Madison County General
Hospital.
He was born January 23, 1926 in Benton County to the
late Leonard M. and Odell Cole Hedge. He was a member of
Sandy Point Baptist Church, a member of the Eastern Star
Chapter 314; 50-year member of the Bruceton Masonic
Lodge #731 and Memphis Scottish Rites, Memphis, Al
Chymia Shriners.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Katheryn Hall; a
daughter, Theresa Hedge Furr of Bruceton; a sister,
Remonia Allen of Huntingdon; a granddaughter and two
step-grandchildren. |
