Katherine M. Teague
1921-2003
MCKENZIE: Services for Katherine M. Teague, 82, were
at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 25 at the Church of the
Living God in Paris with Elder James Travis officiating.
Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery in Mansfield.
Mrs. Teague died at her home on Friday.
She was born January 3, 1921 in Paris to the late Fred
Page and Samantha Jackson Page. She was educated in
Henry County and was an employee of Crown Cleaners, an
Avon representative and a housewife.
Survivors include a daughter, Pearlie Hutcherson of
Paris; five sons, Bobby Hayes of Paris, Edward Milliken,
Freddie Milliken and Charles Milliken, all of Nashville
and Carl Milliken of Mobile, Alabama; a brother, Robert
Jackson of St. Louis, Missouri; 29 grandchildren; 8
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Professor Kirby Teague; two daughters,
Verlie Scott and Shirley Stewart and two sisters, Louise
Harmon and Vergie Jackson preceded her in death.
Tom S. Hall
1922-2003
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS: Tom S. Hall, D.D.S.,
80, passed away on March 15 in an Arlington Heights,
Illinois hospital. Dr. Hall, a resident of Park Ridge,
Illinois, was born in McKenzie on September 9, 1922. He
attended Bethel College in McKenzie. He later moved to
Chicago and graduated from Loyola University’s Dental
School. He practiced as a dentist in the Chicago area
for 40 years.
Dr. Hall is survived by his wife, Virginia; children
Nancy Shuts, Jeri Metler, Tom Hall and Mary Hall, seven
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service and burial was held on Friday, March
21 in Park Ridge. Arrangements were handled by the
Ryan-Parke Funeral home at 120 S. Northwest Highway,
Park Ridge, Illinois.
Sue Bruce
1921-2003
FULTON, KENTUCKY: Sue Bruce, 81, died on Monday,
March 17 at the Haws Memorial Nursing Home in Fulton,
Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m.,
Wednesday, March 19 at the Hornbeak Funeral Home Chapel
in Fulton.
She was a member of the Good Springs Cumberland
Presbyterian Church and had worked as a bookkeeper for
the former Southern States in South Fulton before
retiring. She was a graduate of Fulton High School and
had lived in this area all of her life.
She was born on November 14, 1921 in Fulton County,
Kentucky to the late Weldon and Lula Milner King. Four
sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Thomas Bruce
of Fulton; two sons, Thomas Ray Bruce of McKenzie and
Gene Paul Bruce of Cave City, Kentucky; five
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Katherine Sue Kemp
1920-2003
MCKENZIE: Graveside services for Katherine Sue Kemp,
82, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23 at the Mt.
Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie with Rev. Harrell Nation
officiating. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the
services.
Mrs. Kemp died on Friday, March 21 at Oak Manor Health
Center in McKenzie.
She was born in McKenzie on July 8, 1920 to Frances Todd
Kemp and Marcus Kemp. She was a retired secretary for
the First United Methodist Church in McKenzie and a
member of that church.
There are no immediate survivors.
Reba E. Hall
1921-2003
HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Reba E. Hall, 81, died on
Wednesday, March 19 at the Huntingdon Health and
Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted
on Friday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral
Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Dishman officiating.
Interment followed at the Benton County Memorial
Gardens.
Mrs. Hall was born July 23, 1921 in Springville to the
late John H. and Esther Lowry Sanders. She was a pilot
and owner of Hall’s Grocery. A brother, Charles Sanders
preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Hall; three sisters,
Jean Barnhart, Naomi Dillahunty and Ravanell Britt; four
brothers, Dwight Sanders, Samuel Sanders, Paul Sanders
and John Sanders, Jr., all of Huntingdon. www.dilday.com
Rev. R.B. Morgan
1912-2003
HUNTINGDON: Services for Rev. R.B. Morgan, 90, were
at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22 at Hopewell Baptist
Church in Yuma with Rev. A. Taylor officiating. Burial
was in the church cemetery.
Rev. Morgan died on Tuesday, March 18 at the Huntingdon
Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on July 29, 1912 to the late J.W. and Bertha
Crider Morgan and was married to the late Rommie Owens
Morgan. Rev. Morgan professed faith in Christ at age 12
at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Yuma. He served as a
deacon of the church until he answered the call to the
ministry. Prior to answering the call, Rev. Morgan spent
his early years as a farmer. He also worked in
construction as an ammunition handler in Milan. He later
worked for the Department of Safety with the Tennessee
Highway patrol from which he retired. He served as
pastor of Milton Grove Baptist Church and Spring Creek
Baptist Church, both in Paris.
Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in
death by four brothers and two brothers-in-law.
Survivors include two daughters, Susie Marshall and
Earlene Weathers, both of Huntingdon; one sister,
Cressie Gooch of Huntingdon, three grandchildren; one
great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild; and
several nieces and nephews.
Rev. Orlander Humphreys
1970-2003
PARIS: Rev. Orlander Humphreys, 33, died Sunday
morning, March 23 at Henry County Medical Center in
Paris. Arrangements were incomplete at press-time.
Trinity Funeral Home in Paris is in charge of the
arrangements.
Lula T. Nanney
1920-2003
GLEASON: Services for Lula T. Nanney, 82, were at
2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22 at Gallimore Funeral Home
with the Rev. Roy Auvenshine officiating. Burial was in
the Hopewell Cemetery.
Mrs. Nanney, widow of Charles Nanney, died on Thursday,
March 20 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
She was born on August 2, 1920 in Sharon to the late
Archie Thomas and Eunie Ann Adams Everett.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Choate of Buchanan; a
sister, Sue Travis of Martin and three grandchildren.
Harold David Godwin
1932-2003
GLEASON: Services for Harold David Godwin, 70, were
at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23 at Gallimore Funeral
Home, with Rev. Don Bullock officiating. Burial was in
the New Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Godwin, a retired farmer, died on Friday, March 21,
at the McKenzie Health Care Center.
He was born on September 30, 1932 in Tiptonville to the
late Lonnie Talmer and Ora Lynn Turner Godwin. He was a
veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Anderson Godwin; a
son, Harold David Godwin, Jr. of Gleason; two daughters,
Sabrina Snider of Gleason and Benita Hope Griffin of
Union City; a sister, Sonja Joyner of Huntingdon; a
brother, Paul Godwin of Gleason and three grandchildren.
