  Helen Rita Palke
1910-2003
HOLLOW ROCK:
Mrs. Helen Rita Palke, 93, died Friday, September 12 at home. A memorial service was held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Huntingdon on Saturday September 27 at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Palke was born August 5, 1910 in York Run, Pennsylvania to the late Stanley and Antoinette (Rafacz) Szaflarski. She was a retired cashier for the Montgomery Ward Company and a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Huntingdon. Eight brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. Another brother, Mr. Frank Swift of Hollow Rock, died September 14.
She is survived by one son, Donald Palke of Hollow Rock and many nieces and nephews including Irene Gall of Hollow Rock.

William Ewing Clifton
1928-2003
HENRY:
Services for William Ewing Clifton, 75, were on Sunday, September 28 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie. Burial was in the Henry Cemetery in Henry.
Mr. Clifton, a retired truck driver, died on Thursday, September 28 at his home.
He was born March 29, 1928 to the late Mary Ann Townsend Clifton and Robert Lee Clifton in Bruceton. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon F. Weir; two sisters, Gertrude Gunn and Louise French and five brothers, Hurbert Clifton, W.G. Clifton, J.T. Clifton, Gene Clifton, and Odell Clifton.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Clark of Grand Junction, Michigan and Dian Spicher of Fayetteville; one son, William L. Clifton of Campbell, Missouri; one sister, Frances Garrigus of Paris; one brother, Wayne Clifton of Prattville, Alabama; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Wallace E. Coleman, Sr.
1940-2003
ATWOOD:
Services for Wallace Lee Coleman, Sr., 63, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Coleman died on Friday, September 19 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Survivors included his wife, Betty Coleman; one daughter, Dorene Bledsoe Caskil of Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania; two sons, Wallace Coleman, Jr. and Samuel Coleman, both of Atwood; five sisters, Edna Nelson of Chicago, Illinois, Elsie Collins of Atwood, Mary Adkisson of Milan, Mary Melton of McLemoresville and Louise Taylor of Humboldt and two brothers, Robert Coleman, Jr. of Chicago and L.C. Coleman of McLemoresville.
Stephenson-Shaw Funeral Home of Gibson County was in charge of the arrangements.

Leona Jones Finney
1921-2003
CLEVELAND, OHIO:
Services for Mrs. Leona Jones Finney, 82, formerly of McKenzie, were held on Thursday, September 11 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio with Reverend Alfred Hudson officiating.
She died on Wednesday, September 3.
Mrs. Finney was born February 22, 1921 to the late Delia Jones in Weakley County. She grew up in McKenzie where she attended school and graduated high school.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Johnson Temple C.M.E. Church where she was a faithful member until her move to Cleveland. She was married to Mr. Lawton Finney, who preceded her in death in September, 1980.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Butler of Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Clarence (Essie) Jones of Memphis, five grandchildren, Jerry and Robert of Cleveland, Ohio, Eddie, Akimi and Mario of Memphis and nine great-grandchildren, Sherina, Nicole, Nathanel, Jermey, Cheyenne, Kobe, Jamari and the two that she raised, D'Angelo and Anastasia.

Curtis Lee Hutcherson
1953-2003
PARIS:
Services for Curtis Lee Hutcherson, 50, were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27 in Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Gene Fowler officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Hutcherson died on Monday, September 22 at the Plumbley Rehabilitation Center in Paris.
He was born on July 4, 1953 to the late Wayman Travis and LaRuth Hutcherson Travis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Candice Hutcherson.
Survivors include three daughters, Jessica Lynn Winburn, Katlyn Ann Hutcherson and Tarsheda Hilliard, all of Paris; three sisters, Glenda Warren, Helen McCain and Louise Somerville, all of Paris; four brothers, Hafford Jones of Davenport, Iowa and Jimmy E. Travis, Joe E. Travis and Wayne A. Travis, all of Paris; and one grandchild.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ernest Lee Bennett
1918-2003
HOLLOW ROCK:
Services for Ernest Lee Bennett, 85, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends James Daniel and Joey Simmons officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Bennett, a retired farmer died on Wednesday, September 24 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born September 21, 1918 in Carroll County to the late Clarence and Ruby Campbell Bennett.
Survivors include four sisters, Sadie Brown of Detroit, Michigan and Jean McMackin, Brooxie Brinkley and Juanita Green, all of Hollow Rock.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn McMackin and Rachael Jordan.

Raymond Cunningham
1908-2003
MCKENZIE:
Services for Raymond Cunningham, 94, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30 at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Bro. Malcolm Norton and Rev. Vance Rushing officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Greenfield.
Mr. Cunningham, a retired farmer, died on Saturday, September 27 at his residence.
He was born December 13, 1908 in Weakley County to the late Martha Rial Cunningham and Robert Wiley Cunningham. He was a past Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Adelle Argo Cunningham; two sons, Bobby (Mattie) Cunningham of McKenzie and Mickey (Irmgard) Cunningham of Greenfield; two daughters, Peggye (Billie) Stout of Martin and Phyllis (Danny) Curtis of Trezevant; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Mabel Hodges and Robbie McCartney preceded him in death.

Lottis Wilbert Holland
1928-2003
CAMDEN:
Services for Lottis Wilbert Holland were on Saturday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Stockdale-Malin Chapel with Bro. Chester Harrison and Bro. Kenneth Richey officiating. Burial was at Crossroads Cemetery.
Mr. Holland, retired from HIS in Bruceton, died at his residence on Wednesday, September 24. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Camden and was a U.S. Naval veteran.
He was born February 2, 1928 in Benton County to the late Arlie Holland and Lola Cole Holland.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Sue Smothers Holland; two daughters, Charleace Warren of McKenzie and Cathy Waters of Camden; one son, Terry Holland of Camden; one sister, Virginia Bell of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

William "Willie" Rodriguez
1940-2003
BRUCETON:
Services for William "Willie" Rodriguez, 63, were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 30 at Bruceton Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Colter and Rev. Steve Whitworth officiating. Interment followed in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Rodriguez, a retired presser for HIS died on Saturday, September 27 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born May 18, 1940 in Albonito, Puerto Rico to the late Justino and Maria Pia Rodriquez. He was a member of the Faith Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nan Wright Rodriguez; two daughters, Wanda Murphy of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Synthia Gallas of Cummings, Georgia; two stepdaughters, Paula Hollowell of Westport and Yvette Burk of Sevierville; one son, William O. Rodriguez of Camden; one stepson, Mark Turner of McDonough, Georgia; one half brother, Henry Rivera of Davenport, Florida; and nine grandchildren.

Huey Paul Long Sanders
1943-2003
MCKENZIE:
Services for Huey Paul Long Sanders, 60, were Thursday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Copeland officiating. Burial was in the New Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Sanders, a disabled truck driver, died Tuesday, September 23 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1943 in Jackson to the late Ira Sanders and Myrtel Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Helga Renzland Sanders, three stepsons, Leonard Britt and Bobby Britt, both of McKenzie and Jimmy Britt of Lebanon; three daughters, Debbie Sanders and Sherry Sanders, both of Gleason and Paula Sanders of Martin; two stepdaughters, Marie Britt of McKenzie and Lemi Chick of Nashville; one brother, A.C. Sanders of McKenzie; four sisters, Rachal Corum of Gleason, Pat Steadman of Jasper, Alabama, Zana Mae Turner of Hohenwald and Muzette Turner of Lacy Springs, Alabama; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marlon Sanders, Garland Sanders and R.D. Sanders and one sister, Mollie Wilson.

Emily Imogene White
1914-2003
MILAN:
Services for Emily Imogene White, 89, were on Friday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Potts officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.
Mrs. White, a retired W.S. Wormser supervisor, died on Wednesday, September 24 at Douglas Nursing Home in Milan.
She was born March 26, 1914 in Gleason to the late Victoria McElroy and Emily Dodd McElroy. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Milan. She was also preceded in death by one son, Joe White and her husband John Hendron White.
Survivors include one son, John Thomas White of Gleason; one daughter, Barbara Crocker of Milan, six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Rev. George Robert Williams, Sr.
1918-2003
PARIS:
Services for Rev. George Robert Williams, Sr., 85, were on Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Progressive Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Tipton officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery with Trinity Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Rev. Williams died on Wednesday, September 24 at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
He was born February 26, 1918 in Nashville to the late Jesse Williams and Hannah Williams. His only son, George R. Williams, Jr. preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Fisk University, the American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville and pastor of the Progressive Baptist Church. He was past president of the Ministerial Alliance and previously pastored the First Baptist Church of Toronto, Canada.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Anderson Williams; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Woodrow Wilson Young
1916-2003
MCKENZIE:
Services for Woodrow Wilson Young, 87, were at 2:30 p.m., Monday, September 29 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Tony Janner and Bro. Vance Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
He was born in Weakley County on July 4, 1916 to the late Ada Fuzzell and Luther Young. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and McKenzie Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include his wife, Blondell Parham Young; one son, Lowell Wilson Young and two daughters, Dianne Harris and Debbie Burnine, all of McKenzie; one grandchild, Kevin Burnine and four great-grandchildren, Taylor Burnine, Abby Burnine, Hannah Harris and Patrick Harris. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Keith Harris and one great-grandson, Peyton Edward Burnine.

Jane Walker
1926-2003
HUNTINGDON:
Ms. Jane Walker, 77, died on Sunday, September 28 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Martin Klamm and Bro. Bill Crossno officiating. Interment followed in the Sellers Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Walker was born January 23, 1926 in Carroll County to the late Levi Priest and Lula Marie Utley Walker. She was a retired seamstress for the Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of the Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Elizabeth Hester, Mary Catherine Hilliard and Virginia Priestly Walker; and two brothers, Ben Thomas Walker and James Ray Walker.
Survivors include one son, Joe Walker of Huntingdon; two sisters, Marvonell Milam of Huntingdon and Martha Sue Brewer of Paris; three brothers, Robert Earl Walker of Huntingdon, William Harold Walker of Madison and Sidney Lee Walker of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

James W. "Fibber" McGee
1921-2003
HUNTINGDON:
Mr. James W. "Fibber" McGee, 82, died on Sunday, September 28 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, September 30 at 3:00 p.m. in the First Pentecostal Church in Huntingdon with Bro. Kenneth Dyson, Bro. John Columbus and Bro. Larry DePriest officiating. Interment followed in the Palmer Shelter Cemetery.
Mr. McGee was born May 7, 1921 in Benton County to the late Walter and Ethel Hooper McGee. He was a retired fireman for the Town of Huntingdon, a World War II army veteran and a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Huntingdon. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Boswell and Freda Bennett and five brothers, Dalton Walker, Leverett Walker, Hooper Walker, Bert Walker and Ronald McGee.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Willodean Mann McGee; one daughter, Diann Edwards of Huntingdon; four sons, Jerry McGee, Jimmy McGee, Ricky McGee, all of Huntingdon and Billy H. McGee of McKenzie; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Raymond Jackson Rich, Sr.
1924-2003
HUNTINGDON:
Mr. Raymond Jackson Rich, Sr. died on Tuesday, September 23, at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Johnny Boyd officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Rich was born February 28, 1924 in Huntingdon to the late Clarence Jackson and Maggie Bell Tosh Rich. He was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Tessie Byars; two granddaughters, Tammy Rich and Tracy Wilson; three brothers, Ray Rich, C.J. Rich and Billy Rich and one sister, Johnnie Beal.
Survivors include his wife, Della Marie Smith Rich; one daughter, Debby Williams of Huntingdon; three sons, Raymond Rich of White Bluff, Jimmy Rich of Stanton and Dennis Rich of Huntingdon; five brothers, Coy Rich of McKenzie and Paul "Dickie" Rich, Gaylon Rich, Garlon Rich and Don Rich, all of Huntingdon; four sisters, Ruth Johnson, Francis Carter and Peggy Pruitt, all of Huntingdon and Faye Chandler of Savannah; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Peggie Ann Roberts
1933-2003
HUNTINGDON:
Mrs. Peggie Ann Roberts, 70, died Thursday, September 25 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Burton officiating. Interment followed at the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Roberts was born July 22, 1933 in Kentucky to the late Clarence and Mary Ann Sims McKeever. She was a homemaker and a member of the Faith in Christ Church. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Donald McKeever, Beverage McKeever; two sisters, Sue Swan and Judy Hone and one grandson, Joey Roberts.
Survivors include five daughters, Judy Prince of McLemoresville, Rilla Vann of Florida, Roberta Garrison of Alabama, Nancy Brewer of Ohio and Linda Whitman of Michigan; one son, Howard Roberts; one sister, Betty Underwood and one brother, Ronald McKeever, all of Michigan; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Edd Dudley, Jr.
1952-2003
LINDER, VIRGINIA:
Graveside services for Edd Dudley, Jr., 51, were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27 in Shiloh Cemetery in McKenzie. Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Dudley died on Saturday, September 20, in a car accident in Washington, D.C.
He was born January 10, 1952 in McKenzie. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his mother, Cleo Haynes; a daughter, Tiffony Dudley of Capitol Heights, Maryland; a brother, George Dudley of McKenzie; and many other relatives.

Wayne Bell
1944-2003
HUNTINGDON:
Mr. Wayne Bell, 59, died Wednesday, September 24 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert White officiating. Interment followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mr. Bell was born February 7, 1944 in Benton County to the late Felix and Myrtle Noles Bell. He was a retired sawmill worker for Hollingsworth Sawmill and a member of the Hebron Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Bell and Wilburn Bell and a sister, Opal Pruett.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Bell; a son, Timothy W. Bell of Huntingdon; a daughter, Tina L. Baker of Hollow Rock; a brother, Roger D. Bell of Huntingdon; two sisters, Blondell Seiber of Huntingdon and Brenda Bell of Milan and two grandchildren.

Barbara Thompson
1942-2003
SPRINGVILLE:
Services for Barbara Thompson, 61, of Elkhorn Road were planned for 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 30 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dwight Turner and Steve Gallimore officiating. Burial followed in the Thompson family cemetery at Springville.
She was born on March 28, 1942 in Paris, the daughter of James M. and Anne Francis Hasting Sanders, who lived in Big Sandy. She was married April 1, 1961 to Jerry D. Thompson, who survives. She was a homemaker and member of the New Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors also include two daughters, Laura Dougherty of Buchanan and Susan Beltz of Crum; one son, Steve Thompson of Springville; one sister, Margaret Corbitt of Bruceton; two brothers, Larry Sanders and Jimmy Sanders, both of Chardon, Ohio and six grandchildren.
