Brooxie Nell Burrow
1921-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Brooxie Nell Burrow, 82, were
at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 2 at McKenzie Funeral Home
with the Rev. Jim McGuire officiating. Burial was in
Shiloh Cemetery.
Mrs. Burrow, a homemaker, died on Saturday, July 31 at
Oak Manor Health Care Center in McKenzie.
She was born October 13, 1921 in Hollow Rock to the late
Relia Cannon Pinson and Osco Pinson.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Burrow of
McKenzie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Burrow.
Mike Hodge
1952-2004
HUNTINGDON: Services for Mike Hodge, 52, were
conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 1 at New Hope
Missionary Baptist Church with Brothers Tony Boyd, Tim
Maness and Johnny Wall officiating. Interment followed
in the church cemetery. Mr. Hodge died on Thursday, July
29 at his home.
He was born July 22, 1952 to the late Ashley and
Victoria Dykes Hodge in Lexington. He was a retired
truck driver and a member of the New Hope Missionary
Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Micah Hodge of
Huntingdon; one son, Quint Hodge of Lexington, his
former wife, Brenda Hodge of Huntingdon; two sisters,
Joyce Rogers of Hope, Michigan and Angie Elkins of
Atwood and one brother, Ray Hodge of Huntingdon.

Elsie Ungurean McMillin
1929-2004
BRUCETON: Services for Elsie Ungurean McMillin, 75
were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 31 at Bruceton Funeral
Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Wages officiating. Burial was
in McAuley Cemetery near Buena Vista.
Mrs. McMillin, retired payroll clerk for H.I.S. Co.,
Inc. died on Tuesday, July 27 at Henry Ford Bi-County
Hospital in Warren, Michigan.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Evans of Paris; two
sons, Phillip McMillin of Jackson and Dennis McMillan of
Nashville; a sister, Lenore Kryska of East Detroit,
Michigan; seven grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman P.
McMillin and a son, Gary McMillin.
Richard George Witkowski
1942-2004
MCKENZIE: Richard George Witkowski, 62, died on
Monday, July 26 at the Jackson-Madison County General
Hospital. He was born March 29, 1942 in Michigan and was
an employee of the Ford Motor Company. He was preceded
in death by his father, Walter Witkowski.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Woods Witkowski; a son,
Walter Witkowski; his mother, Mary Romatowski Witkowski;
a stepdaughter, Debrah Mahaffy, both of Michigan; a
sister, Maryann Witkowski of Florida; two brothers,
Edward Witkowski and John Witkowski, both of Michigan;
four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.

James Travis Bynum
1930-2004
ATWOOD: Services for James Travis Bynum, 73, were
conducted on Sunday, August 1 at 3:00 p.m. at the
Trezevant First Baptist Church with Bro. Malcolm Norton
officiating. Interment followed in the Trezevant
Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Bynum died Friday, July 30 at his home.
He was born November 22, 1930 in Carroll County to the
late James Monroe and Thelma Jouett Travis Bynum. He was
a retired air force master sergeant and Vietnam veteran;
a member of the First Baptist Church of Trezevant and
enjoyed being part of the church activities.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Mary Helms
Bynum; three sisters, Martha Trull of McKenzie, Edna
Arnold of Leslie, Michigan and Betty Leaver of Jacks
Creek; and one half-sister, Vaden Wade of Gleason.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Judith Ann Smartt Keen
1945-2004
HALLS: Services for Judith Ann Smartt Keen, 59, were
at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22 at Poplar Grove
Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was session
Clerk. Internment followed in the Halls Cemetery.
Mrs. Keen was a 1963 graduate of McKenzie High School
and a retired teacher, who taught at both Ripley High
School and Halls Junior High School. She died on
Tuesday, July 20 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in
Memphis.
She was the daughter of the late Hinckley and Vista
Smartt. Her father was a former professor at Bethel
College. She was treasurer of Delta Kappa Gamma
Sorority.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Freeman Keen; a
daughter, Shelly Kimble and a son, Randy Keen, both of
Ripley; a sister, Fran Addicott of Collierville and two
grandchildren.
The family requests any memorials be sent to Poplar
Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Halls. Halls
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Sion Edward Pritchard
HUNTINGDON: Sion Edward Pritchard died on Sunday,
August 1. Services, with arrangements incomplete at
press time, will be conducted by Dilday Funeral Home.
