Ruby Pearl Bush
1920-2004
HUNTINGDON: Services for Ruby Pearl Bush, 83, were
conducted on Sunday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Church of God of Prophecy with Brother Milton Gordon
officiating. Interment followed in the Christian Chapel
Cemetery.
Mrs. Bush died on Wednesday, August 11 at the Baptist
Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
She was born September 6, 1920 in Humphreys County to
the late Albert Ray and Mary Sanders Wheeler. She was a
retired employee of U.S. Tobacco and a member of the
Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by
three brothers, Leroy Wheeler, Thomas Wheeler and
Leonard Wheeler and two sisters, Willie Stegal and
Lorene Tidwell.
Survivors include her husband, Lonnie H. Bush; three
daughters, Carolyn Loggains of Huntingdon, Jean
Rodriguez of Paris and Jane Steele of Batoon, Illinois;
two sons, Hulon H. Bush of Paris and Bobby Ray Bush of
Huntingdon; two sisters, Margaret Baucom of Huntingdon
and Martha (surname, address unavailable); one brother,
Albert Wheeler of Hornbeak; nine grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren.

William Gordon Carroll
1924-2004
CEDAR GROVE: Services for William Gordon Carroll,
80, were conducted on Friday, August 13 at 3:00 p.m. in
the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lloyd C. Hardy
officiating. Interment followed in the New Independence
Cemetery.
Mr. Carroll died on Tuesday, August 10 at the NHC
Healthcare in Milan.
He was born July 10, 1924 in Carroll County to the late
Homer Ernest and Roxie Lee Smothers Carroll. He was a
retired crane operator for General Motors. He was
preceded in death by two brothers, Adrian Carroll and
Avery Carroll.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nancy Evelyn
Carroll; one daughter, Linda Joan Sellers of Cedar
Grove; two sisters, Venita Laws and Virgie Price, both
of Huntingdon; two brothers, Billy Carroll and Ralph
Carroll, both of Cedar Grove; four grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Harold Glen Hall
1939-2004
GLEASON: Services for Harold Glen Hall, 64, were at
1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 12 at Williams Funeral Home
in Greenfield with the Rev. Roy Auvenshine officiating.
Interment was in Highland Cemetery.
Mr. Hall, a welder, died Tuesday, August 10 at his
residence.
He was born August 23, 1939 in Rutherford to the late
Howard Hall and Lonnie A. Cooper Hall.
Survivors include his companion, Alice Cherry; a son,
Tommy Hall of Atwood; a daughter, Beverly Morgan of
Greenfield; two brothers, Harris Hall and Freddie Hall,
both of Greenfield; two sisters, Minnie Townsend of
Union City and Mary Allen of Gleason and three
grandchildren.
Gwendolyn Carol Craft Jackson
1936-2004
HUNTINGDON: Services for Gwen Craft Jackson, 68,
were conducted on Sunday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the
Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Burton and
Bro. George Hill officiating. Interment followed in the
Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson died Friday, August 13 at the Baptist
Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Mrs. Jackson was born February 27, 1936 in Madison
County to the late Morris and Ethel Clark Brasher. She
was a registered nurse for Baptist Memorial Hospital in
Huntingdon for over 20 years and was a member of the
Faith in Christ Church in Huntingdon.
Survivors include her husband of nine years, Charles
Raymond Jackson; one daughter, Cheryl Price of Atwood;
one stepdaughter, Angela Barfoot of West Monroe,
Louisiana; two sons, Billy Gray and Tracey Gray, both of
Jackson; one stepson, Kevin Jackson of Paris; one
brother, Mackey Brasher; nine grandchildren; four
step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Brenda Kay Taylor
1940-2004
JOELTON: Services for Brenda Kay Taylor, 64, were
held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 9 at Anderson and
Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton. Interment followed in
Webb Cemetery in Joelton.
Mrs. Taylor died on Saturday, August 7 at Centennial
Medical Center in Nashville. She was preceded in death
by her parents, Maxell Burrow and Novacine Scott and her
son, Kenneth Wayne Green.
Survivors include her husband, Perry Taylor; four sons,
Terry Green of Huntingdon, Joe Green, Steve Green and
Ricky Taylor, all of Nashville; two daughters, Tammy
Demonbreun and Kathy Tinkle, both of Nashville; two
sisters, Janis Lloyd and Diane Corbitt, both of
Nashville and one brother, Ricky Scott of McKenzie.
Nathan Howard Williams, Jr.
1922-2004
HUNTINGDON: Services for Nathan Howard Williams,
Jr., 82, were conducted on Tuesday, August 12 at 10:00
a.m. with Dr. William P. Bailey, Jr. and Dr. Paul
Millikin officiating. Interment was in Carroll Memorial
Gardens.
Mr. Williams died on Tuesday, August 10 at Life Care
Center in Bruceton.
He was born January 12, 1922 in the Rosser Community to
the late Nathan Howard and Ora Brown Black Williams. He
was proprietor of Watson Gin and Fertilize in
Huntingdon, a World War II army veteran who served in
Europe and a member of the First United Methodist Church
in Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by a sister,
Helen McGinnis.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ernestine
Mitchell Williams; one son, Ted Williams of Coppell,
Texas and three grandchildren.
James W. Starks
1923-2004
GLEASON: Services for James W. Starks, 81, were
conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 11 at the
First Baptist Church in Gleason, where he was a member,
with the Revs. Keith Sumner and Raymond Carneal
officiating. Interment followed in Murray Memorial
Gardens.
Mr. Starks, a retired truck driver and former Murray
resident, died on Monday, August 9 at the
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1923 in Murray to the late George
and Ola Strader Starks.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Winchester Starks; one
son, Steve Starks of Paris; two daughters, Martha
Stewart of Paris and Becky Hames of Gleason; one
brother, Jack Starks of Hazel; one sister, Pearl Turpin
of Murray; seven grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.
George Ron Bassham
1943-2004
LAVINIA: Services for George Ron Bassham, 61, were
at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 17 at Bodkin Funeral Home
in Milan. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery in Lavinia.
Mr. Bassham, a retired employee of Ford Motor Company
died on Thursday, August 12 at Jackson-Madison County
General Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Bassham; two sons,
Master Sergeant Ronald Bassham, Jr., stationed in
Germany and David Lentz of Columbia; four daughters,
Hope Fullington and Ronnie Britt, both of Lavinia,
Denise Bassham of Nashville and Sandy Woodard of
Raleigh, North Carolina; two brothers, four sisters and
ten grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be directed to the
American Heart Association.
Vincent A. Gray
1974-2004
BRUCETON: Services for Vincent A. Gray, 30, will be
at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19 at the First Baptist
Church with Rev. James Daniel officiating. Burial will
be in the Jamison Cemetery near Westport with Tennessee
State Guard honors at the gravesite.
Mr. Gray died of cancer on Monday morning, August 16 at
Baptist Memorial Hospital in Nashville.
He was a 1992 graduate of Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central
High School and an engineer with CSX Railroad. He was a
member of the Bruceton, Carroll County and Hollow Rock
volunteer fire departments, the Carroll County Rescue
Squad, the Tennessee State Guard and he was a First
Responder.
He was born July 4, 1974 in Camden to Danny and Barbara
Gray who survive. He was a member of Prospect Baptist
Church in Hollow Rock.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn Marie Gray; two
daughters, Allison Hamer and Lisa Hamer, both of Hollow
Rock; a son, Chris Hamer of Hollow Rock and one brother,
Casey of Hollow Rock.
Visitation will be at the Bruceton Funeral Home from
4:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m.
until 9:00 p.m. Bruceton Funeral Home is in charge of
