Brooksye I. Burke
1920-2004
MCLEMORESVILLE:
Services for Brooksye Irene Burke, 84, were conducted on Thursday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the McLemoresville Church with Rev. Ron Cox and Bro. Darrell Harris officiating. Interment followed in the McLemoresville Cemetery.
Mrs. Burke died on Tuesday, December 7 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
She was born July 9, 1920 in Carroll County to the late Edgar Newton Sampson and Zenie Green Sampson. She was a retired supervisor for the O’Bryan Brothers Manufacturing Company, a charter member of the McLemoresville Baptist Church and volunteered at the Carroll County Museum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert R. Burke, who died in 1978, three sisters, Helen Barrow, Sadie Horn and Gladys Travis and one brother, John Sampson.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Younger of McLemoresville and Patty McIver of Clayton, North Carolina; two sons, Travis Burke of Knoxville and Keith Burke of Cookeville; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Cressie Gooch
1909-2004
HUNTINGDON:
Services for Cressie Gooch, 94, were conducted on Monday, December 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. A. Taylor officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
She died Friday, December 10 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born December 12, 1909 in Yuma to the late Josh Morgan and Bertha Crider. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester Gooch, five brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Artie Lee Tate and Mrs. Susie M. Marshall, both of Huntingdon and 13 grand nieces and nephews.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Elnora “Doe” Roberts
1921-2004
CLARKSBURG:
Services fro Elnora “Doe” Roberts, 83, were conducted on Saturday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wendell Boyd officiating. Interment followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
She died on Thursday, December 2 at her home.
Mrs. Roberts was born June 15, 1921 in Henderson County to the late Jim and Dessie Anderson McClure. She was a retired factory worker for the Leroy Somer Company and a member of the County Line Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy McClure and Cecil McClure; one sister, Imogene Woods and one granddaughter, Teresa Roberts.
Survivors include two daughters, Corinne Prater of Clarksburg and Joy Rider of Potts Camp, Mississippi; one son, Wesley Roberts of Lexington; one sister, Annie Webb; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Travis B. Scates
The obituary of Travis B. Scates in the December 8 edition stated his brother lived in Virginia Beach, West Virginia. It should have stated he was from Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Lynn S. Taylor
1948-2004
HUNTINGDON:
Services for Lynn S. Taylor, 56, were conducted on Tuesday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kenny Bradford officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor died on Sunday, December 12 at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
He was born February 5, 1948 in Henderson County. He was a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ and owner of Taylor Real Estate, Insurance & Auction. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Gibson Taylor and a brother, Kim Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Martha Bennett Taylor; one son, Thomas “Chad” Taylor; two daughters, Vicki Taylor Williams and Jennifer Rae Taylor, all of Huntingdon; his father, A.J. Taylor of Huntingdon; one brother, Glenn Lee Taylor of Hendersonville; one sister, Sandra Brown of Huntingdon and four grandchildren. www.dilday.com

William “Bill” Lee Moore
1912-2004
HUNTINGDON:
Services for William “Bill” Lee Moore, 92, were conducted on Saturday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the east visitation room of Dilday Funeral Home with Brother Fred Ward officiating. Interment followed in the McAuley Cemetery.
Mr. Moore died Thursday, December 9 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Moore was born July 20, 1912 in Buena Vista to the late John “Bud” and Eva Williams Moore. He was a retired employee of Dupont, a member of the Huntingdon First Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the Huntingdon Lodge #106 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Wilson Moore; a sister, Nell Worley and a nephew.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ondeen Williams of Buena Vista; a niece and a nephew. www.dilday.com

Memorial Service
Joe Kenneth Glisson

Memorial services will be held for Joe Kenneth Glisson on Sunday, December 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Glisson, 69, of Huntingdon died on November 26 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
