Mary Victorine Pritchard
1928-2004
CLARKSBURG: Mrs. Mary Victorine Pritchard, 75,
passed away Thursday, February 19 at Jackson-Madison
County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted
on Saturday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clarksburg
Church of Christ. With Bro. Billy Clark, Bro. Hugo
Sellers and Bro. Martin Klamm officiating. Interment
followed in the Sellers Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pritchard was born December 4, 1928 in Carroll
County to the late James Lester and Maggie Elizabeth
Ellis Cole. She was a homemaker and a member of the
Clarksburg Church of Christ. She was preceded in death
by her husband Lois Ray Pritchard, who died August 14,
1984.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Hastings,
Doris Smith and Vicky Jarrett; three sons, Charles Ray
Pritchard, Jimmy Pritchard and Ricky Pritchard, all of
Clarksburg; one brother, Wilburn Cole of Tulsa,
Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and
six step-great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Delmar R. Sullivan
1915-2004
HUNTINGDON: Mr. Delmar R. Sullivan, 88, passed away
Thursday, February 19 at the Huntingdon Health &
Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted
on Sunday, February 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral
Home chapel with Bro. Larry Dishmond officiating.
Interment followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sullivan was born November 21, 1915 in Decatur
County to the late Pete and Lula Hale Sullivan. He had
worked at the Milan Arsenal, was a farmer and a World
War II naval veteran. He was a member of the American
Legion and the Church of God of Prophecy in Huntingdon.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Massey of
Huntingdon and Bertie Arnold of Camden; one son, Willard
Sullivan of Huntingdon; one sister, Norma Futrell of
Newark, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren
and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Mattie L. Winston
1920-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Mattie L. Winston, 83, were
on Thursday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt
Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Dennis Beal
officiating. Interment followed in Enon Cemetery in
McKenzie.
Mrs. Winston, a homemaker, died Tuesday, February 17 at
Oak Manor Health Care Center in McKenzie. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Winston.
She was born May 16, 1920 in McKenzie to the late Myrtle
and Andy Morris. She was a member of Liberty Hill
Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Alfred Jimmy Morris of
Michigan and James Henry Morris of McKenzie and three
sisters, Bessie Latham of Arkansas, Myrtle Mae Allen of
Paducah, Kentucky and Dorothy Morris of McKenzie.
Thomas Carter Traywick
1949-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Thomas Carter Traywick, 54,
were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday February 22 at Brummitt
Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Richard Allen
officiating. Interment followed at New Independence Full
Gospel Cemetery in McLemoresville.
Mr. Traywick, self-employed, died Friday, February 20 at
Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. He was a member
of the Union Academy Baptist Church.
He was born April 27, 1949 to the late Marvin Traywick
and Jean Rogers Traywick, who survives.
Survivors also include his wife, Vickie Robison Traywick;
one son, Terry Traywick of McKenzie; one daughter,
Christy Wren of Greenfield; one sister, Debbie Smith of
McKenzie; and two grandchildren.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Marie Russell Simpson
1922-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Marie Russell Simpson, 81,
were on Wednesday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt
Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Keith Pence
officiating.
Mrs. Russell, a homemaker, died Monday, February 16 at
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was a
member of the Community Grove Methodist Church.
She was born August 1, 1922 to the late Musie Claris
Wilson Russell and Laphe Franklin Russell. She was also
preceded in death by her husband, Bill Simpson; two
brothers, Dempsey Russell and Bobby Russell and one
sister, Leola Taylor.
Survivors include two daughters, Retta M. Spring of
McKenzie and Rebecca Cook of Jackson; one brother,
Walter Verdell Russell of Springville; four sisters,
Margie Pate, Sylvia Cox and Betty Anderson, all of
McKenzie and Regina Taylor of Nashville; five
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Tessie Beatrice MeBane Scott
1930-2004
PARIS: Services for Tessie Beatrice MeBane Scott,
73, were Friday, February 20 at Trinity Funeral Home
with Bro. Patrick Scott officiating. Interment followed
in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Scott, a former employee of Quality Cleaners,
passed away on Sunday, February 15 at Henry County
Health Center in Paris. She was a member of the
Jehovah’s Witness faith.
She was born on June 7, 1930 in Huntingdon to the late
Marion Mebane and Mamie Hughes. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, William Scott, Sr., who died July
26, 1971; one daughter, Mamie Teague; and three
brothers, Matthew Mebane, Curtis Mebane and L.S.
Williams.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Teague and
Paulette Strickland, both of Paris; two sons, William
Scott, Jr. of Paris and Terry M. Scott of McKenzie; one
sister, Ella Mae McCollough of Cedar Grove; one brother,
Nathaniel Mebane of Huntingdon; 13 grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Elmer Williams
1951-2004
PARIS: Services for Elmer Williams, 52, will be held
on Wednesday, February 25 at Wingo Missionary Baptist
Church in Trezevant at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Williams
officiating. Interment will follow in the church
cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
at the Wingo Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday,
February 24.
Mr. Williams, an employee of International Paper, was
born in Trezevant on July 17, 1951 to the late James
Hilliard Williams and Jaggie Boyland Williams. He was a
member of the Wingo Missionary Baptist Church, a
graduate of Trezevant High School and the vocational
school in McKenzie.
Survivors include two daughters, Centralia Williams of
Los Angeles, California and Sheronda Rivers of Jackson;
three sisters, Clarice Sturdivant of Paris, Gloria Hunt
of McLemoresville and Emma Lee Williams of Trezevant;
three brothers, James “Bud” Williams, Anthony Williams
and Rev. John Williams, all of Trezevant and one
granddaughter.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Danny “Satch” Derryberry
1949-2004
WILDERSVILLE: Services for Danny “Satch” Derryberry,
54, were at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21 at Reed’s
Chapel with burial in Jones Cemetery.
Mr. Derryberry died Thursday, February 19 at
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Survivors include two stepsons, Jimmy Kelly and Kirk
Kelly of Yuma; two sisters, Susie Nichols of
Wildersville and Tami Hayes of Yuma; two brothers, Larry
Derryberry of Wildersville and Eddie Derryberry of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tollie and
Pauline Derryberry and three brothers, Bob, Lanny and
Terry Derryberry. |
