Douglas Blane Fry
1935-2004
CEDAR GROVE: Services for Douglas Blane Fry, 69,
were conducted on Thursday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. in
the Chase Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Robert Barger
officiating. Interment followed in the Ferguson
Cemetery.
Mr. Fry died on Monday, October 18 at the
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born on June 2, 1935 in Cedar Grove. He was a
graduate of Trezevant High School and the West Tennessee
Business College. He joined the United States Air Force
and retired after 26 years of service. He was preceded
in death by his father, Hooper Fry and one nephew.
Survivors include his mother, Marjorie Fry; his wife of
48 years, Becky Fry; one daughter, Gina K. Fry of Cedar
Grove; two sons, Dwight D. Fry of Paris and Franklin C.
Fry of Leach; two sisters, Thelma Courtney of Cedar
Grove and Gloria Higdon of Bruceton; two nephews; three
grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Kenneth Joe Clark
1954-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Kenneth Joe Clark, 50, were
conducted on Tuesday, October 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the
Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Frank Chadwell
officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Comfort
Cemetery.
Mr. Clark died on Saturday, October 23 at the McKenzie
Regional Hospital.
He was born June 1, 1954 in Wayne County, Michigan. He
was an employee of New Generations. He was preceded in
death by a brother, Jeffrey Lane Clark.
Survivors include a son, Bradley Clark of Martin; his
father and mother, Oscar Audrain and Dorothy Clark of
McKenzie; a sister, Debbie Clark of McKenzie and one

Mona Winter Eubanks
1921-2004
BRUCETON: Services for Mona Winter Eubanks, 82, were
conducted on Wednesday, October 20 in the Chase Funeral
Home chapel with Bro. James Daniels and Bro. Donald
Craig officiating. Interment followed in the Prospect
Cemetery.
Mrs. Eubanks died on Sunday, October 17 at the
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born October 19, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to
the late Leo and Alta Louise Cox Winter. She was
preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Winter and Robert
Leo Winter.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Bill Eubanks;
two daughters, Debbie Cook and Lisa Carter, both of
Hollow Rock; three sons, Richard Scott of Dalton,
Georgia, Harold Eubanks of Huntingdon and Frankie
Eubanks of Camden; one sister, Patricia Joyner of Hollow
Rock; ten grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Betty Jane Biggart
1931-2004
HUNTINGDON: Services for Betty Jean Biggart, 73,
were conducted on Saturday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. in
the Chase Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Wayne Burton
officiating. Interment followed in the Carter’s Chapel
Cemetery.
Mrs. Biggart died on Thursday, October 21 at her home.
She was born September 7, 1931 in Carroll County to the
late William Earl and Sammie Coleman Robinson. She was
retired from the Huntingdon Special School District
where she worked in the middle school cafeteria; she
owned the first Kiddy Shop in Huntingdon; was a member
of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Huntingdon First
United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by
one daughter, Deborah Ann Biggart.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Tucker and
Barbara McLain, both of Huntingdon; one son, Doug
Biggart of Westport; one sister, Carolyn Fletcher of
Huntingdon; six grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
Bennie F. Cagle
1914-2004
Services for Bennie F. Cagle, 90, were conducted on
Thursday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the
Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Stanford
officiating. Interment followed in the Lebanon Cemetery
in Madison County.
Mr. Cagle died Monday, October 18 after an extended
illness.
He was born in Henderson County to the late George and
Lizzie Caruthers Cagle and attended the schools of that
county. He was a farmer and had retired from the Bemis
Cotton Mill. He was a Methodist by belief.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred McAlexander Cagle,
to whom he was married in 1936; two sons, Billy Cagle of
Germany and Howard Cagle of Jackson; two daughters,
Joyce Cagle of Jackson and Peggy Holmes of Cedar Grove;
nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one
great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by
eight brothers and three sisters.
Vera Collins
1913-2004
HUNTINGDON: Services for Vera Collins, 91, were
conducted on Monday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the
Clarksburg Church of Christ with Brother Billy Ringold,
Brother Martin Klamm and Brother Bill Crossno
officiating. Interment followed in the Sellers Hill
Cemetery.
Mrs. Collins died on Saturday, October 23 at the Baptist
Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 2, 1913 in Carroll County to the
late Clarence and Lillian Simpson Springer. She was a
member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ and a retired
employee of Publix Shirt Corporation. She was preceded
in death by her husband Bennie Collins; two brothers,
Henry Springer and Wayne Springer.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertie Lou Warbritton
and Yevonne McCaslin, both of Huntingdon; one brother,
Harlon Springer; six sisters, Hester Scott, Lola Rosser,
Mildred Bridges, Polly Simpson, Lorene Springer and Alva
Jean Boyd, all of Huntingdon; seven grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren and three-great-great-grandchildren.

MANSFIELD: Services for former McKenzie resident
Cora Lee Galloway, 91, were conducted at 2:00 p.m.,
Thursday, October 21 at Brummitt Funeral Home in
McKenzie.
Mrs. Galloway, a homemaker and the widow of Felix H.
Galloway, died on Monday, October 18 in Nashville.
She was born September 11, 1913 in Carroll County to the
late Monroe and Minnie Helems Lundy.
Survivors include three daughters, Katie Smith of
Mansfield, Mildred Howard of McKenzie and Barbara
Davidson of Portals, New Mexico; seven grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a
son, Lendell Galloway and a grandson, Jimmy Smith, Jr.
Mary Katherine Morgan
1933-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Mary Katherine Morgan, 71,
were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19 at Cedar Avenue
Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Trull
and Dennis Beal officiating. Interment followed in
Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Morgan, a homemaker, died Sunday, October 17 at
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1933 in Hornbeak to the late
Pauline Nevils Edwards and J.B. Edwards. She was a
Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, R.C. Morgan; three
daughters, Mary J. Quinones Sue Trull, and Christine
Robertson, all of McKenzie; three stepdaughters, Faye
Presley, Retha Jaime Luna and Phalecia Marbry, all of
McKenzie; two sons, Larry F. Robertson of McKenzie and
Richard Robertson of Paris; one stepson, Charles Morgan
of McKenzie; two sisters, Molly Morris of Rutherford and
Judy Hilliard of Dresden; two brothers, J.W. Edwards of
Clarksburg and Kenneth Edwards of Dresden; eight
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kathy
Anderson.
Zella Grace Greeson
1960-2004
MCKENZIE: Graveside services for Zella Grace
Greeson, 44, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday,
October 20 at Parker’s Crossroads Cemetery.
Mrs. Greeson, a homemaker, died on Monday, October 18 at
the McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born February 3, 1960 in Missouri to the late
Raymond Levi and Irene Elizabeth Gaston Sawyer.
Survivors include three daughters, Jane Dunlap, Teresa
Dunlap and Kimberly Dunlap, all of McKenzie; one son,
Bryce Gaston of McKenzie; three sisters, Shirley
Burnnette, Elizabeth Whold and Cleo Buhler, all of
Missouri; four brothers, Jerry Sawyer, Harold Sawyer,
Harry Sawyer, all of Missouri and Lloyd Sawyer of
Camden; and two granddaughters.

Pitts Jerry Joyner

HUNTINGDON: Services for Pitts Jerry Joyner, 71,
were conducted on Wednesday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m. at
the Huntingdon First United Methodist Church.
He died on Saturday, October 16 at the Jackson-Madison
County General Hospital.
Mr. Joyner was born July 28, 1933 in Carroll County to
the late Floyd E. and Lillian Gardner Joyner. He was a
self-employed insurance agent.
Survivors include a son, Scott Joyner of Concord, North
Carolina and a daughter, Lori Lewis of Jacksonville,
Florida.

Lois Sydnor Newton
1933-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Lois Sydnor Newton, 71, were
at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23 at Brummitt Funeral
Home with the Rev. J.W. Hays officiating. Burial was in
Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Newton, retired factory worker and homemaker, died
on Thursday, October 21 at her residence.
She was born February 6, 1933 in McKenzie to the late
John Sydnor and Betty Lois Barker Sydnor. She was a
Baptist by faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracey Best of Jackson;
three brothers, Jim Sydnor of McKenzie, Gene Sydnor of
Jackson and Dale Sydnor of Cleveland, Texas; and two
grandsons Nicholas Best and Matthew Best.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred M.
Newton; a brother, Rob Sydnor and a sister, Thelma
Neisler.
Verna Lee Parish
1922-2004
WESTPORT: Services for Verna Lee Parish, 82, were
conducted on Friday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the
Dilday Funeral Home chapel with Brother Tim Maness
officiating.
She died on Wednesday, October 20 at the Huntingdon
Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born February 14, 1922 in Decatur County to the
late Covy Chester and Lillie Hicks Griggs. She was a
member of the Yuma Missionary Baptist Church and a
retired employee of Henry I. Siegel. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Priesley Parish, who died on
November 18, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Carrie McLean and
Barbara Blount, both of Westport; one son, Gerald Parish

Evelyn Riggs
1911-2004
BUENA VISTA: Services for Evelyn Riggs, 93, were
conducted on Friday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Chase Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Lloyd Ray Rich and
Bro. Roger Ellis officiating.
Miss Riggs died on Thursday, October 21 at the Life Care
Center in Bruceton.
She was born January 6, 1911 in Carroll County to the
late John and Jennie Bell Moon Riggs. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Mt. Nebo Missionary
Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by six
brothers, Buford Riggs, Ondeen Riggs, Floyd Riggs, James
E. Riggs, Lewis Riggs, and Enloe Riggs.
Survivors include two sister, Lorene Evans of
Glencarbon, Illinois and Velma Mitchell of Erin, several
nieces and nephews.
John R. Green
1919-2004
HOLLOW ROCK: Services for John R. Green, 85, were at
2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 24 at Bruceton Funeral Home
with Rev. Lloyd Rich and Bro. Russell Carlock
officiating. Interment followed in the Pisgah Cemetery
near Hollow Rock. Military rites were conducted at the
gravesite.
Mr. Green, a retired truck driver with Gray
Transportation, died on Thursday, October 21 at Life
Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born July 22, 1919 in Clarksburg to the late John
P. Green, Sr. and Sarah Madeline West Green. He was a
World War II army veteran and a former Union Stewart for
the Teamsters.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Bennett Green; a
son, Billy Green of Chattanooga; a sister, Bessie Mae
Phillips of Bruceton; two brothers, Joe Green of Hollow
Rock and Ralph Newhouse of Bruceton and one grandson. |
