Bobbie Jo Leach Welch
1927-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Bobbie Joe Leach Welch, 76
were held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28 at Zion
Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie with Bro.
Mike Ridgeley and Bro. Lance Needham officiating. Burial
was in Union Academy Cemetery.
Mrs. Welch, retired employee of Wal-Mart jewelry
department, died Wednesday, August 25 at Huntingdon
Health & Rehab Center.
She was born September 20, 1927 in Carroll County to the
late Hobart Porter Leach and Bennie Perkins Leach. She
was a member of the Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church
and was a Pink Lady at Baptist Memorial Hospital in
Huntingdon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Pope
Welch; two brothers, Perkins Leach and Gerald Leach and
one sister, Dorothy Leach.
Survivors include two sons, Stan (Betty Gail) Welch and
Frank (Paulette) Welch, both of McKenzie; a daughter,
Daphney (Russell) Byrd of McKenzie; three brothers,
Larry “Buddy” Leach of Port Richey, Florida, Porter
Leach of Kingston and Byron Leach of Chattanooga; two
sisters, Avonalle Todd of Memphis and Vivian Coleman of
Oak Ridge and three grandchildren, April Welch, Adam
Welch and Blake Welch.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pauline Hester Gooch
1909-2004
HUNTINGDON: Services for Pauline Hester Gooch, 94,
were conducted on Thursday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m. in
the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Howard Pruett
officiating. Interment followed in Carroll Memorial
Gardens.
Mrs. Gooch died on Tuesday, August 24 at the Baptist
Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
She was born November 11, 1909 in Perry County to the
late John H. and Honor Twomey Hester. She was married to
Buford Gooch in 1934, who preceded her in death in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her only son, Hugh Mac
Gooch, who died in 1990 and one brother, Hubert Hester.
She was a retired seamstress for Modern Cleaners for
more than 30 years and a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Huntingdon. After retirement she
continued doing alterations at her home.
Survivors include one grandson; three
great-grandchildren and one niece and nephew.
James Thomas Gallimore
1944-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for James Thomas Gallimore, 60,
were at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, August 26 at McKenzie
Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Moore an Frank Criswell
officiating. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Gallimore, retired owner of McKenzie Radiator Shop,
died Tuesday, August 24 at his residence.
He was born February 14, 1944 in Martin to the late
Geneva Thomas Gallimore and R.C. Gallimore. He served in
the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a
member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Genie Goodman and Tammy
Cathey, both of McKenzie; a son, Tim Dyal of McKenzie;
five sisters, Phyllis Bensinger of Chicago, Illinois,
Jenette Langett of Conrow, Texas, Janice Heath, Reba
Butler, both of Arkansas and Doris Hall of McKenzie; a
brother, Gary Gallimore of Chicago, Illinois and seven
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Gallimore.
Jerry Glynn Reaves
1943-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Jerry Glynn Reaves, 61, were
at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 30 at McKenzie Funeral Home
with the Rev. Joe Wilkinson officiating. Burial was in
Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Reaves, an employee of Tower Automotive in Milan,
died Saturday morning, August 28 at Jackson-Madison
County General Hospital.
He was born February 13, 1943 in Dresden to the late
Mary Mosella Johnson Reaves and John Lenard Reaves. He
attended Meridian Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marshal Cantrell Reaves; two
daughters, Rena Schlegel and Jeri Lawrence, both of
McKenzie; a son, Forest Reaves of McKenzie; three
sisters, Peggy Perritt of McKenzie, Gladys Brethaur of
Lansing, Michigan and Wanda West of Houston, Texas; five
brothers, Charles Reaves of McKenzie, Cecil Reaves of
Trezevant, Bobby Reaves and Joe Reaves, both of Paris
and Eugene Reaves of Lansing, Michigan and three
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Adele Skinner.
Odell Bell
1925-2004
MCLEMORESVILLE: Services for Odell Bell, 78, will be
held at the Cumblerland Presbyterian Church in
McLemoresille on Saturday, September 4 and 1:00 p.m.
Mr. Bell died on Saturday, August 28 at Baptist Hospital
in Huntingdon.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at
the church on Saturday. Rawls Funeral Home is in charge
of the arrangements. |
