The baseball team ended its season at the district level in Milan on Tuesday. In their first game, the Rebels erased a 4-0 deficit from the previous day to pull out a 9-5 win over Riverside. Drew Hayes pitched well in the rain-interrupted contest. He settled down after falling behind to allow one run. The team was led in hitting by seniors John French (3-5), Clint Manns (3-4), and Brad Campbell (2-4). The second game of the day for the Rebels proved to be a costly one as they faced the Camden Lions for the second time in the tournament. The Rebels committed 5 errors, and Camden pounded 13 hits as the Rebels lost 12-3. Senior Jake Smith went 3-4 to lead the team. Jake Smith and Drew Hayes received All-District 11-AA for their performance during the regular season. Jake, Drew, and John French earned all-tournament honors to cap off the season. Congratulations to those young men.

The softball team faced the perennial powerhouse of District 11-AA, the Camden Lady Lions on Tuesday. They played a competitive game against the top-seeded and 23-7 home team, but lost in a 10-inning contest 8-7. The Lady Rebels had their chances with a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the 7th and 7-5 lead going into the bottom of the 10th. The veteran Lady Lions refused to blink and came away with the win. The Lady Rebels managed 14 hits with Carol Perritt going 3-6 and Lauren Perritt, Jalisa Brown, MiRanda West, and Brittany Carpenter each collecting two hits. In a do-or-die situation on Wednesday, the Lady rebels faced the Lady Tigers of Lexington. Our team eked out a 4-3 victory insuring themselves a berth in the regional tournament. Brittany Carpenter earned the win for the Lady Rebels who took advantage of their five hits to produce four runs. In the second game, the Lady Rebels again faced Camden. The Lady Lions pounced on the Lady Rebels early scoring 7 runs in the first inning. Although the Lady Rebels scratched and clawed, they could get no closer than the 8-5 final deficit. Brittany Carpenter homered for the team and was 2-4 at the plate. The Lady Rebels were scheduled to play at Chester County on Monday in the First Round of the regional tournament. Congratulations to Brittany Carpenter, Carol Perritt, and Lauren Perritt. They were named to the 11-AA All-Tournament Team.

The soccer team ended its season last Monday in the Second Round of the tournament. They lost 4-0 to the top-seeded team, USJ. The team recorded two wins and one tie in this inaugural season. The team was coached by George Ognibene with special help from Coach Kerry Brimmo of Bethel College. We are indebted to Bethel College for the use of their game field and to Coach Brimmo for his invaluable assistance. Congratulations to Lee Barham who was named to the All-District team for the north division.
