The Dresden Lady Lions and Lions wrapped up their
schedule before the Christmas break as they traveled to
Huntingdon last Tuesday night.
The Fillies tried to slow things down in hopes of

able to take a 42-27 win over the Huntingdon girls. In
boys action, Huntingdon held off a late rally to take a
52-49 win over the Lions.

Huntingdon Fillies 27
The Fillies' strategy was apparent early in the opening
frame as the Huntingdon girls held the ball for nearly
the first three minutes of the contest before taking a
shot.

player throughout the opening three minutes of the first
frame. Finally, a pass into Jessica Carlton resulted in
a layup and the Fillies only lead of the contest. The
Lady Lions quickly took the ball down the court and
Katie Quinton nailed a jumper from the right side to tie
the game. A minute later, after a fruitless Filly trip
down the court, Quinton extended the lead to 5-2 with a
three-pointer. Quinton added four more points through
the final two minutes of the first frame to give the
Lady Lions a 9-2 lead after one frame.
After an early deuce from Chasity Strayhorn, the Lady
Lions pushed their lead to double digits with a pair of
free throws from Quinton and a three-pointer from Kaci
Bailey. Five unanswered points from Peyton Butler cut
the lead to 14-9 with five minutes left before both
defenses tightened up. A pair of Ashlee Dubruiel free
throws followed bay a late jumper from Quinton gave the
Lady Lions and 18-9 lead at the end of the first half.
The Lady Lions continued to add to their lead early in
the third frame as jumpers from Brooke Levister and
Quinton pushed the Dresden lead to 13 points with 4:28
left in the third stanza. After a three-pointer and a
pair of from Casey Henson countered a Dubruiel jumper,
Dubruiel sank a pair of free throws to make the score
26-14 after three frames.
Though Huntingdon was able to keep the deficit at a
dozen points through the opening half of the final
frame, but the Fillies were forced to foul for
possession. Free throws from Paige Hughes, Quinton,
Emily Rook and Bailey helped pushed the Dresden lead to
38-20 with just over a minute left in the game. But, a
pair of late jumpers from Jessica Hilliard and a
three-pointer from Carlton cut the lead to 15 points at
the end of the contest.

while Bailey and Dubruiel added six each. Butler led
Huntingdon with nine points in the loss.

point with a Mark Roberson jumper, but Donald answered
with a deuce of his own. However, Roberson nailed a
three-pointer to tie the game at 40-40 with 2:36 left in
the frame. A jumper from Desmond Townes and a pair of
free throws from Brent Taylor pushed the Huntingdon lead

with five points - including a pair of free throws from
Atkins and Cody Crocker to make the score 49-44 with
4:15 left in the game. Free throws from Matt Hewett and
Miller cut the Mustang lead to two points, before two
free throws by Donald gave Huntingdon a 51-47 lead with
just under a minute left in the game. Though a late
